The “perfect” diet just FLUNKED a major test!
A-list singers and celebrities Jessica Simpson and Jennifer Hudson SWEAR by it…
The American Heart Association gave it a PERFECT score…
And while the latest news around this “new” DIET is promising…
Today I’m obliged to tell you that, while it has plenty of buzz-worthy merit…
It’s FLUNKING a major health test as far as I’m concerned!
A new report from the American Heart Association ranked “popular” diets based on their impact on heart health.
They looked at 10 in total – including Paleo, keto, and Mediterranean (just to name a few)…
Yet none of these heart-healthy diets topped their list of the “best” diet for your heart.
Their winner?
It’s called the Dietary Approaches to Stop Hypertension (DASH) diet.
It’s designed to be the complete OPPOSITE of the typical Western diet which is loaded with sodium and unhealthy fat.
Instead, DASH focuses on eating a diet rich in fruits and vegetables that are chock-full of potassium, calcium, and magnesium.
And unlike Paleo, keto, and even Mediterranean diets, DASH doesn’t really emphasize eating quality meats.
And what’s why I think it misses the mark in a MAJOR way!
Because, cutting out meat entirely – or not making quality meats a priority – isn’t going to save your heart.
Recent studies have found that vegetarians and vegans have significantly lower levels of ubiquinol than folks who eat meat regularly.
Ubiquinol is a vital compound that promotes heart health by helping provide the energy needed to POWER your heart.
A lack of ubiquinol could lead to:
- Fatigue
- Muscle issues
- A weakened immune system, and
- Increase your risk for other age-related diseases…
One found that plant eaters on average had 23% LESS ubiquinol than meat eaters!
The DASH diet of course isn’t a plant-based diet, but it doesn’t put an emphasis on eating meat, either!
Here’s my takeaway…
For starters, I don’t like to “rank” diets – and I don’t think reputable organizations that does such good things (like the AHA) should be doing it, either.
Instead, what you should be focusing on is eating a diet of clean, whole, natural foods – fruits, vegetables, and of course MEAT!
Stick to that – and not some fad diet – and your heart is going to be just fine.
