Tasty drinks laced with TOXINS?! [ALERT]
The soda and juice aisle of your grocery store is like a MIRAGE of all sorts of refreshing, bubbly drinks just calling for your taste buds.
But take a quick look at the nutrition labels, and you’ll discover that the majority of those tempting drinks are nothing but SUGAR in a jug!
Yes, friend – today I’m here to sound the alarm on ANOTHER unhealthy additive to these drinks…
A research study out of Tulane University peeled back a shocking discovery of what could be lurking inside a bevy of sodas and juices found in YOUR grocery store…
TOXIC METALS!
That’s right – a number of popular beverages contain arsenic, cadmium, and lead!
As if all the added sugar wasn’t bad enough, right?!
The study didn’t call out any specific brands – but did note that all of the beverages tested (60 in total) are commonly found in grocery stores.
Researchers did note that the overall levels of these metals was BELOW most Federal standards. They went on to say that that the average consumer doesn’t need to worry as long as these types of drinks are consumed in moderation.
But my question is…
Why even bother drinking the JUNK?!
The fact is, the majority of commercially-manufactured sodas and fruit juices are LOADED with excess sugar and preservatives that can set you up for a lifetime of health problems (like type 2 diabetes, obesity, and heart disease).
And now we can add metals to that list. Do you really want to be drinking toxic metals, in any amount?
(And don’t even get me started on the “healthier” option – diet soda!)
Sure, “moderation” is good… but there are other, tasty, and HEALTHY options to quench your thirst.
If you’re craving a “bubbly” drink, opt for seltzer water with a fresh squeezed lime or lemon. It gives you that soda feel without any health risks.
And with the summer heat right around the corner, make-it-yourself options like this are great on a hot day.
To real food and drink,
