A new “buzz’ for arthritis pain?!
When it comes to relieving ARTHRITIS pain… it’s the usual suspects.
At least, as Big Pharma’s concerned.
From over-the-counter (OTC) pain killers… to lab-concocted prescription drugs…
Those seem to be your only “options.”
But today, I have some “buzz” on another option for your arthritis pain.
If you’ve ever been stung by a BEE, you know first-hand just how painful those little buggers can be.
But what if that pain could be harnessed to kick joint pain to the curb?
Bee venom is a colorless, acidic liquid. Bees excrete it through their stingers into a target when they feel threatened.
Melittin—the primary driver for the pain associated with bee stings—makes up about 50% of the dry weight of bee venom and has been shown in studies to have antiviral, antibacterial, and anticancer effects.
But bee venom also contains two compounds called apamin and adolapin. And while bees deliver these ‘toxins’ through their stinger, it turns out they possess a TON of anti-inflammatory and pain-relieving properties.
This is all part of an alternative medicine practice called apitherapy, which uses bee products—specifically the venom—to treat and prevent illnesses, pain, and more.
Researchers have long touted bee venom’s ability to fight inflammation.
In a study reported in the Journal of Ethnopharmacology, researchers found that injections of bee venom actually helped prevent the development of arthritis in rabbits.
Bee venom seemed to prevent arthritis with the help of hormones called glucocorticoids.
These hormones help regulate inflammation. The use of bee venom, with the help of glucocorticoids, might slow the progression of inflammatory arthritis.
And it’s not just for animals!
If you suffer from the daily joint pain that comes with arthritis, you can now harness the power of bee venom through bee venom therapy.
Bee venom is often delivered through “herbal acupuncture.”
First, the bee venom is extracted and diluted. Then, it’s administered to specific locations on your body… usually in the form of multiple injections administered by healthcare professionals.
Think of it as an all-natural ‘shot’ directly to the source of your joint pain.
If your doctor isn’t keen on apitherapy, consider talking about it with a doctor who practices in alternative or functional medicine.
You can also find all-natural bee venom supplements are most vitamin retailers. Just be sure to talk to your doctor before supplementing.
