“Beer” trick beats BACK the FLU
Folks, flu season is here.
And recent headlines are predicting that this year’s flu season is going to be a doozy.
Even back in August, media outlets were sending dire warnings about the flu season… pointing to Australia’s recent flu outbreak and how it could be an indicator of things to come in the U.S.
But it doesn’t seem to scaring a lot folks. Last week it was reported by the National Foundation for Infectious Diseases (NFID) that only 49% of the U.S. population is considering the flu vaccine.
Now, I have a lot of thoughts about the flu shot – but there’s not a single jab, prick, or shot in the world that is 100% effective at preventing the flu.
Which means arming your body early is PARAMOUNT in case you DO get hit with the flu bug this year!
Luckily, a special “beer” trick can help you beat back the symptoms of the flu and help get you back on your feet.
Brewer’s yeast is used for exactly what it sounds like – brewing BEER!
Now, that might make it sound unhealthy, BUT the compounds found in brewer’s yeast actually help stimulate your body’s immune response and help expedite the process of fighting off viruses.
Take a gander at ingredients at any brewer’s yeast, and you’ll see that it contains a slew of healthy components, including B vitamins… chromium… selenium… and protein.
Scientists haven’t exactly pinpointed the reason why, but studies on brewer’s yeast and upper respiratory infections have led them to believe that it’s unique combination of nutrients helps the body “treat itself.”
In fact, one study found that while brewer’s yeast won’t STOP an upper respiratory tract infection… brewer’s yeast supplements can make the infections less severe if you take it after you get sick.
And with the “recovery” time for the flu sometimes lasting up to TWO WEEKS… this means that even if you get hit with the flu, you have the potential to feeling back to normal in DAYS… not WEEKS.
Now’s a good time to look for brewer’s yeast and to keep it in your pantry just in case you need it.
You can find dried brewer’s yeast in capsule form at your local health food store (usually in the same place you’ll find probiotics).
Since brewer’s yeast is technically a fungus, be sure to discuss it with your doctor to ensure it doesn’t interfere with any medications you may be taking… or if you have a yeast allergy.
To fighting the flue,
