JUMPSTART metabolism with this new morning routine
If your weight-loss efforts have STALLED…
And you’re looking for a set of jumper cables to get your weight under control…
I might have just the thing.
It’s a “drink trick” that’s A STEP ABOVE green tea… coffee… or any exotic elixirs you may have tried before.
Friend, this is POWERFUL stuff… so you’ll want to make sure you get it in just the right way.
Today, I’ve got everything you need to know about this ancient tribal beverage… and how it could SHRINK your waist…
And send weight troubles PACKING!
Scientists call it by its Latin name, Paullinia cupana.
The locals call it “guarana”…
But it’s sometimes better known as “Brazilian cocoa”!
No, it’s NOT chocolate… but LIKE chocolate, it naturally contains caffeine.
In fact, researchers have found exponentially more caffeine in guarana seeds than in coffee beans… making it the most caffeine-rich plant on the planet!
As if that weren’t enough, guarana is also comprised of 2 more ENERGIZING ingredients — theophylline and theobromine.
It’s no wonder why the indigenous tribes around the Amazon rainforest would use guarana to stay alert… and why you’ll find it included in some energy and “sports” drinks.
Those INVIGORATING ingredients could also be part of how guarana could help you lose weight…
As REVVING up your energy levels comes alongside a BOOST to your metabolism…
Helping you BURN MORE calories, even when you’re just reading the morning paper… finishing a crossword… or taking a nap!
But it’s not the ENTIRE story.
Thanks to its rich content of catechins, it’s PACKED with antioxidant action… almost as found in green tea.
That’s important – because folks with weight problems tend to have excessively high levels of oxidative stress, caused by free radicals.
In fact, some researchers think that too much oxidative stress could actually CAUSE obesity… or, at least, make it darn-near impossible to shed those extra pounds.
That’s not all…
Because the STIMULATING seeds of this Brazilian fruit have also been shown to influence fat metabolism…
Even helping to BLOCK the formation of fat tissue (a.k.a. adipogenesis).
That doesn’t make it a “fat burner,” per se…
But it may mean that you can EAT some fats and other healthy foods… without GETTING fat!
The results?
Well, you won’t find any clinical trials just yet… but a population study on older folks in the Amazon region may say it all.
Compared to the folks who NEVER consumed guarana, those who’d made a habit of consuming guarana were associated with…
- LESS obesity
- LESS metabolic syndrome
- LOWER oxidative stress markers
- LOWER total cholesterol and LDL (the “bad” kind) among women, and
- SMALLER waist circumference among men.
In South America, you’ll find folks enjoying soft drinks made from guarana…
But as with energy drinks, I’d stay away from anything that could be LOADED with added sugars.
That could be counterproductive, to say the least!
A better option might be herbal tea… but you won’t know exactly how much caffeine and other stimulating components it contains.
And you don’t want to overdo it on ANY of those stimulants.
Instead, you could opt for guarana powder or guarana extract in capsule form.
Make sure the label states exactly how much caffeine you’re getting – usually around 22% in products offered by quality makers.
A recommended dose is 50-75 mg daily in the morning.
Guarana is also sometimes combined with yerba mate and damiana in a formulation called “YGD capsules,” which appear to reduce appetite. In this country, it’s sold under the brand name “Zotrim.”
To getting your metabolic motor running,
Sarah Reagan
