I swear, the year 2020 has completely changed our perspective on certain aspects of our health.

While we once hoped to THRIVE as the year progressed… now we’re just hoping to SURVIVE until 2021!

OK, I’m being a little dramatic…

But it’s never been CLEARER how we need to be PROACTIVE about protecting ourselves against anything that might COMPROMISE our defenses.

And we might have to get a little creative when it comes to supporting immune function.

I’m not talking about trying some newly developed, untested drug… or even a vaccine.

Because there are AGES worth of wisdom that we can learn from – coming from some of the oldest civilizations on the planet.

Here’s what’s happening in Africa… that we can take a cue from right here in America.

The cereal secret behind iron-clad immunity

Archaeological evidence of it dates back THOUSANDS of years… and it’s thought to have FIRST grown in Africa’s Nile River Valley.

In fact, it’s INFAMOUS for growing in the hot, dry conditions of drought – ones that would make OTHER crops wither up and DIE.

I’m talking about the “ancient grain” known as sorghum (Sorghum bicolor).

Benjamin Franklin is credited with bringing sorghum to America’s attention back in the 18th century… but as “broom corn,” a material for making brooms!

But what this “founding father” may have not realized is what African tribal culture has known for AGES.

Sorghum can help shore up your natural defenses!

And not just because it contains immune-boosting nutrients like B vitamins and iron.

First of all, it’s an antioxidant hero that can CURB the effect of harmful free radicals.  And REDUCING oxidative stress is just one way that sorghum could help support healthy immune function.

Sorghum also exhibits anti-inflammatory action… and excess inflammation can HIJACK a healthy immune response.

But perhaps most importantly, sorghum extract has been shown to ACTIVATE cells that are CRUCIAL to both your adaptive and innate immunity functions.

I’m talking about white blood cells, which fight off foreign invaders… and T-cells, which clear out infected cells.

According to research out of Nigeria, sorghum has even emerged as a promising treatment for immunocompromised patients infected with HIV – patients whose T-cell counts can dip dangerously low.

But your immune status doesn’t have to be quite so DIRE in order for you to benefit from sorghum.

Because all of these actions I just mentioned can help soften the blow of the overactive immune responses associated with a myriad of autoimmune diseases.

I’m talking about rheumatoid arthritislupus… and many other DISABLING conditions that strike too many older folks.

In fact, the ultra-mainstream Arthritis Foundation even recommends sorghum as a cereal grain alternative for arthritis patients!

But much of the immune-supporting function of sorghum is actually found in its leaves – and the best way to get the most concentrated, powerful version of sorghum leaf extract is by taking a supplement.

Look for whole leaf powder at your local health food store or online.

As I shared with you recently, sorghum can lower blood sugar… so proceed carefully if you’re on any diabetes meds, since combining these therapies could make your glucose levels dip too low.

To learning from ancient African civilizations,

Melissa Young

Meet the Health Sciences Institute

The Health Sciences Institute (HSI) is an independent organization established in 1998. We’re dedicated to uncovering and researching the most urgent advances in modern underground medicine. Things you WON’T hear about in the mainstream.

Whether they come from a laboratory in Malaysia, a clinic in South America, or a university in Germany, our goal is to bring the treatments that work directly to the people who need them. We alert our Members to exciting breakthroughs in medicine, show them exactly where to go to learn more, and help them understand how they and their families can benefit from these powerful discoveries.
