I love waking up to a hot cup of coffee.

It’s good for your heart… your brain… and even helps your body burn fat.

And guys, I’ve got something just for you when it comes to a health benefit of drinking your Java…

And this one is tailored to PRESERVING your “manliness.”

According to the American Cancer Society, one in eight men will be diagnosed with prostate cancer in their lifetime… and one in 41 will die from the disease.

Which frankly is one TOO MANY!

But research has found that drinking coffee EVERY DAY can fend off a prostate cancer diagnosis… and even IMPROVE the chances of survival if you are diagnosed.

The secret to coffee’s prostate-protecting powers?

Two cancer-fighting elements called kahweol acetate and cafestol.

Kahweol acetate and cafestol are classified as hydrocarbons that have anti-inflammatory properties and antiangiogenic bioactive compounds—which lab studies found can prevent tumors from growing their own blood vessels, thus slowing cancer growth.

A recent study examined over 16 studies on coffee and prostate cancer. It compared men who consumed zero cups of coffee against guys who had one per day. It found that simply adding that ONE CUP of coffee each day yielded a 1% DECREASE in the risk of prostate cancer over time.

But—as more cups of coffee were added (2-9 cups)—that’s when the risk of prostate cancer started to really plummet, including:

  • 9% REDUCED overall risk of prostate cancer
  • 7% DECREASE in localized prostate cancer
  • 12% DECREASE in advanced prostate cancer
  • 16% DECREASE in fatal prostate cancer in men

Realistically, nine cups of coffee is a bit excessive – so be sure to watch your caffeine intake.

The same study even found that drinking DECAF coffee had the same prostate protection as the regular stuff (which is great if you have a sensitivity to caffeine).

Bottom line?

If you’re a guy and drink coffee already—keep it going! And if not, consider starting with one cup a day, and gradually working your way up. And remember, decaf is always a great option.
