Sharpen your BRAIN… through your BONES?
Your BONES are like the foundation of your house. When it’s strong, it keeps your body sturdy, healthy, and offers protection from injury and fractures.
But with age—and time—slowly, but surely, your bones begin to weaken and become brittle (just like a house).
Now, a recent study has found that your weak “foundation” could do a lot more than just harm your bones and joints…
It could also put your BRAIN in serous peril…
A recent study published in the journal Neurology noted that people with LOW bone density may have an increased risk of developing DEMENTIA.
The researchers behind the study examined more than 3,600 individuals over an 11-year period. The research team frequently examined x-rays to gauge participant’s bone density, interviewed each participant every four to five years, and had them complete physical tests (including bone scans and dementia examinations).
In total, they found that over 1,200 people had the LOWEST bone density levels. And a whopping 90% of these low-bone density folks developed dementia within 10 years!
Meanwhile, only a sliver of study participants (57) with high bone density ended up developing dementia.
Now, this isn’t a slam dunk correlation, but it points out that low bone density can develop from inactivity and poor nutrition—both of which also contribute to dementia.
Make an effort to get screened, and talk with your doctor about the health of your bones.
It’s worth noting that you don’t have to guzzle calcium until you’re blue in the face, either. While calcium is the gold standard nutrient when it comes to strong, healthy bones, you can also fortify your body’s natural production of calcium but incorporating NATTO.
To healthy bones (and a healthy mind),
