It’s a classic case of “where are they now?!”

And by “they”, I mean all the people who insisted that a daily aspirin regimen was one of the BEST things you could do to prevent a heart attack or stroke.

You don’t hear much from the pro-aspirin brigade these days…

That’s because UPDATED research has found that taking a daily aspirin could actually be DESTROYING your heart.

Well, today I’ve got MORE proof that the notion of taking a daily aspirin isn’t really that great for your health…

A new study published in the Annals of Internal Medicine found that taking a daily aspirin can up your chances of becoming ANEMIC—a serious iron deficiency.

This latest study estimated that the probability of developing anemia within five years of an aspirin regimen was nearly 24%—compared to close to 20% for people that took a placebo (not aspirin).

I get it, 24% vs. 20% doesn’t feel like a huge different… or even major odds.

But anemia is nothing to overlook. Signs of anemia include fatigue, trouble breathing during exercise, paleness, and dry skin and hair.

It seems harmless… but when left untreated, anemia can cause serious complications even leading to DEATH!

Not to mention, the chances of developing anemia increase with age. it’s estimated that nearly 17% of adults ages 65 and up are anemic.

So, if you can lower your risk of NOT becoming anemic—you should.

Even if it means ditching the aspirin!

When it comes to preventing anemia, you need to ensure you’re eating enough iron through meat, and making sure you get enough vitamin C.

If you are taking a daily aspirin for your heart, please have a real sit down with your doctor to explore other options.

To better methods than aspirin,

Sarah Reagan
