Your eye doc will tell you that you’re at “that age” when it just happens.

You can’t see as well as you used to.

He’ll tell you to start wearing readers… or he’ll change your prescription.

I remember the first time I was told I had to wear bifocals. The horror!

But corrective lenses don’t actually FIX declining vision. They just artificially improve it.

And I’ve found that most eye docs don’t do much to help you support your eye HEALTH.

Friend, don’t try to read or drive without your glasses. You’ll just strain your eyes more than you need to.

But that’s not ALL you can do.

I’ve got another trick for vision today. They’re known as “Chinese wolfberries”… and they could help SLAM THE BRAKES on waning vision.

Turn around ‘darkened’ eyes

Goji berries (Lycium barbarum and Lycium chinense) have gained the reputation of being SO valuable… the Chinese now call them “red diamonds.”

But they were first mentioned in the oldest text of Chinese herbs… called “Shen Nong Ben Cao Jing”… over 2,000 years ago!

And Traditional Chinese Medicine still uses these berries as an “eye brightener.”

That second one tells me that these “sleep berries” also have some influence on the nervous system…

So I wasn’t surprised at all when I heard that they also could help improve vision.

But it turns out that the same mechanism that helps protect your skin from cancer could also help protect your eyes from damage.

That’s right – it’s the “sunscreen berry” to the rescue once again!

Now, there are plenty of berries that could help BOOST eyesight

From the maqui berry… to blueberries and bilberries.

Like those dark-colored fruits, goji contains a high concentration of the antioxidant pigments lutein and zeaxanthin… which are known to SHIELD delicate eye tissue (especially in the retina) from light damage.

I’m talking about both sun (or “UV”) damage AND blue light damage from all that “screen time.”

Those pigments NATURALLY occur in our retinas… especially the BACK of the retina, called the macula, which is where our “light sensors” are.

But as we age, our levels of lutein and zeaxanthin could DECLINE

And that could lead to age-related macular degeneration (AMD).

There’s good news…

Because in a recent small study out of UC Davis, researchers found that simply eating a handful of dried goji berries could be enough to REPLENISH those pigments in eye tissue.

Participants consumed 1 ounce of dried goji berries, 5X weekly over the course of 3 months.

According to that study, it’s possible to BOOST your eye-protecting pigments with goji berries even if your levels AREN’T already too low!

This backs up prior research… which has found that increasing goji berry consumption is linked to SLOWING or even STOPPING progression of AMD and its associated LOSS of eye pigmentation.

A 2018 study out of China also found that the INCREASED pigmentation was associated with vision that GOT BETTER!

That’s not all…

Because goji berries ALSO contain the “carrot pigment” beta carotene… which helps give them a lighter, more orange-hued color…

Plus vitamin E.

It’s this unique mixture of eye-boosting ingredients that contribute to goji berries’ unique potential in vision protection.

A certified Chinese herbalist may know goji berries as “lycium fruit”… by the Latin name Lycii fructus… or as “Gou Qi Zi.”

In China, they eat goji berries raw…

But in this country, we can usually only find them sun-dried (like a raisin)… or as a powder or juice.
