But some of us were STRUGGLING with mood issues even before we started to go you-know-where in a handbasket.

And when you’re feeling down in the dumps even when the world around you ISN’T in utter chaos…

Well, that’s when you know you might need a little help.

I hope you have someone to talk to… whether it’s your spouse, a dear friend, a pastor, or the “man upstairs.”

But we can’t always TALK our way out of a blue mood.

Berberine is a plant chemical (or “alkaloid”) that could help CONTROL blood sugar… and even help TURBOCHARGE your metabolism.

It’s commonly extracted from Indian barberry (Berberis aristate) or Chinese goldthread (Coptis chinensis)…

But it’s also found in several other plants.

In fact, scientists believe that berberine is the reason why amur cork has such CALMING qualities!

Berberine is one of the SAFEST herbs you could take…

Which is more than I can say for many of Big Pharma’s mood meds.

It actually works in a similar way – by influencing your levels of certain brain chemicals, called neurotransmitters.

I’m talking about dopamine (the “feel good” hormone)… serotonin (the “happy” hormone)… and norepinephrine (one of the “stress” hormones).

Anti-depressant pharmaceutical drugs usually they only work on ONE of those neurotransmitters… not all THREE.

And those drugs aren’t always the best option for striking a PERFECT BALANCE of those chemicals.

Because in some cases, TOO MUCH of a neurotransmitter could be just as bad… if not WORSE… than TOO LITTLE!

That’s not all.

Few Rx drugs work on both depression AND anxiety…

But berberine ALSO attaches to GABAA receptors in the brain… which is what anti-anxiety meds called benzodiazepines (or “benzos”) FIT INTO.

BOTH of these factors have been associated in studies with anxiety and depression…

And both antioxidant and anti-inflammatory action seem to help those conditions!

Believe it or not, berberine has even MORE to offer when it comes to mood issues.

This compound actually helps increase a “growth hormone” in the brain, called brain‐derived neurotrophic factor (BDNF).

BDNF helps REPAIR damaged nerve cells in the brain… which helps RECONNECT broken nerve pathways!

This promotes something called brain “plasticity”… which is how your neural connections can EVOLVE and ADAPT.

That’s right – your brain can actually LEARN how to not be depressed or anxious anymore!

In an animal study published last year, Chinese researchers found that these brain changes were linked to INHIBITING depressive behaviors.

And that’s what you REALLY want to know – how something might affect the way you FEEL and ACT!

Look for berberine supplements from a quality maker at your local health food store or online.

There’s some evidence that when it comes to mood, LOWER doses of berberine may be actually more effective than HIGHER doses. Too much berberine, in fact, may have an UNWANTED effect on your neurotransmitter balance!

So, it’s best to start out LOW and SLOW… and check with your doc first to make sure berberine is safe for you to take.

As it can LOWER your blood sugar, be careful combining it with any diabetes meds or other blood sugar-lowering herbs. Otherwise, your glucose levels could dip too low.
