If you happen to catch a cold this winter… and I pray you don’t…

There’s a “heat trick” you should have in your back pocket.

It could help you breathe a little easier

And relieve some of the complaints that make even minor respiratory infections so MISERABLE.

From a STUFFY nose… to PACKED sinuses… and even a sore throat

This congestion-KILLER is a surprising way to HEAT UP your cold-fighting game!

Sweat it out

The habanero (Capsicum chinense) is one of the spiciest of the hot peppers…

And as its scientific name indicates, it’s a rich source of capsaicin, the plant chemical that lends a “fiery” flavor profile to chili peppers.

I’ve shared with you before how capsaicin can EASE osteoarthritissend nerve pain PACKING… and even TURN UP the heat in the bedroom.

Well, you can add another health benefit to the ever-growing list…

Because habaneros can also help relieve the symptoms of upper respiratory infections!

If you’ve ever eaten a habanero pepper… or habanero-based hot sauce… you know exactly what I mean.

Spicy food has a tendency to make your nose run because it THINS mucus – and not just in your nose, but throughout your ENTIRE respiratory tract.

The heat LITERALLY clears out your sinuses!

And it can work on congested lungs, too.

Not only that, but that energizing heat can really get your blood pumping… and breaking out into a sweat from the peppery flames can help eliminate toxins!

But there’s something even MORE outstanding about habaneros – something you might find surprising.

They’re antimicrobial!

Historians believe that the ancient Mayan civilization began using habaneros to help preserve food from spoilage.

Modern research shows capsaicin to be effective against not only food-borne bacteria… like Salmonella and E. coli

But also Streptococcus pyogenes,… which causes strep throat and tonsillitis… and Pseudomonas aeruginosa, a major culprit behind pneumonia.

It works by not only KILLING the bugs directly… but also INHIBITING their ability to infect healthy cells.

Capsaicin can even DEFEAT bacteria that RESISTS antibiotic drugs!

And it can help antibiotics work better against multi-drug resistant strains of bacteria, too.

Look for ways to incorporate habanero into your diet for a spicy kick… and the ultimate foodie “cold cure”!

You can also find capsaicin on its own as a supplement in capsule form… or as part of an immune support formula (often sourced from cayenne).

You’ll want to stay away from capsaicin cream, which can actually CAUSE respiratory irritation.

To spicing up your cold care,

Melissa Young
