What Big Food will NEVER admit
The saying goes…
Fool me once, shame on you. Fool me twice, shame on me!
That wise adage could very well be about the perils of eating junk food.
You see, Big Food wants you to think processed food (junk food) doesn’t impact your health. And they’ll even make certain processed foods LOOK healthy with some fancy packaging!
But take a closer look and you know that too much of the stuff can impact your weight and overall health…
Well, if you need a friendly reminder, there’s a stunning study showing EXACTLY what junk food can really do to your body.
You won’t hear this from Big Food, but we have all the information to ensure you don’t get fooled twice!
According to no-nonsense dietary studies, diets high in saturated fats—pretty much ALL junk foods—can significantly increase your risk of OSTEOARTHRITIS.
Osteoarthritis, the “wear-and-tear” type, is the most common type of arthritis that attacks your hands, neck, lower back, knees, and even your hip.
High levels of saturated fat can cause the cartilage in your joints to deteriorate FASTER. This deterioration is a hallmark symptom of osteoarthritis.
Studies have found that when you have more saturated fatty acid deposits in your cartilage, it changes your metabolism, weakens your cartilage, and makes your joints more prone to damage.
And once that happens, your joints lose that much needed ‘cushioning.’
Bet you won’t see that on any processed food label!
Here’s the bottom line…
I’m not here to preach that you shouldn’t EVER touch any junk food. Every now and then we all need to grab something fast and quick.
At the end of the day, it’s all about limiting your consumption.
It’s also good to try shopping in the outer perimeter of your grocery store. This is where you’ll find all of the natural, whole foods like meats, fruits, and vegetables. The inner aisles tend to be loaded with those unnatural processed foods.
An easy way to ensure you’re eating healthy, whole foods is to consider a Paleo or Mediterranean lifestyle. Both focus on eating grass-fed meats, fruits, vegetables, and healthy fats.
To sensible eating,
