MEAT can KILL you?! (Not so fast)
Make no bones about it…
Eating MEAT is a vital component of a healthy diet.
It’s packed with muscle-supporting protein… and doesn’t contain a lick of processed sugars (which are the scourge of the Western diet).
But as usual, the mainstream wants to trick you into thinking otherwise.
In fact, they’re all the hype about the findings of a new study, which says if you nibble on this specific type of meat, you raise your chances of being SIX FEET UNDER!
But I will give you the straight truth about this latest finding and what it really means for your diet.
Eating just five ounces of processed meat a week can significantly raise your risk of cardiovascular disease AND death. This is according to a Canadian research study.
You read that correctly… just five ounces A WEEK!
BUT this doesn’t mean you suddenly need to become vegetarian.
Here’s why…
While the mainstream sometimes demonizes eating meat of ANY kind, this study proves that it’s processed meat you need to worry about… and AVOID.
Processed meats are meats that have been preserved by smoking or salting, curing or adding chemicals to enhance taste. This means they are packed with salt and preservatives to extend their shelf life… both of are damaging to your heart.
The 10-year study looked at ‘meat eaters’ and found that folks who ate at least 150 grams of processed meat (which is just over five ounces) each week showed a 46% INCREASE in the risk for developing heart disease.
And, the risk of DEATH shot up by a whopping 51% compared those who did NOT eat processed meat.
But there is good news (especially if you love eating meat) …
Sticking to organic, grass-fed meats best when it comes to avoiding unhealthy preservatives.
Most grocery stores have dedicated sections in the meat department for grass-fed meats… including beef, chicken, and pork.
You can also search for any local farms in your area that sell meats right at their location. This is a great option to ensure you’re getting meat straight from the source!
