REVEALED: A Sound Solution for Restless Nights
We’re right the hustle and bustle of the holiday season…
Which means you may not be getting as much SLEEP as you used to.
If you’re lacking in the sleep the department well, today I’ve got details a “singing” trick that can help you get some quality shut-eye—keeping you alert and healthy year-round!
And once you try it, you’ll be kicking yourself for not doing it sooner!
Music ‘therapy’ before bed can improve your overall sleep quality.
Researchers out of Taiwan found that older adults, who listen to music before bed, enjoy a significantly BETTER sleep than those who fall asleep in silence.
But it’s not just ANY kind of music (could you imagine falling asleep to rock and roll?!).
The study found that listening to “sedative music” led to the highest increase in sleep quality. Sedative music is unique as it helps aid in the release of cortisol, a hormone that lowers levels of anxiety and stress, thus leading to better sleep.
Sedative tunes typically have a slow tempo, between 60 and 80 beats per minute, a soft volume, and smooth melody.
While sedative music isn’t a typical ‘genre’—like jazz or classical—it’s actually easier than you think to start listening to it.
Popular streaming music services like Apple Music or Amazon Music have sedative music playlists or stations that you can listen to on your smartphone.
Instead of watching television before bed, consider five to 10 minutes of music before bed. It just may lead to the best night’s sleep you’ve had in a long time!
In addition to soothing, sedative music… you should also consider pistachios to your diet. Believe it or not, they are nature’s richest source of melatonin (the sleep hormone).
