Happy Labor Day!

I hope that you find time to relax, unwind, and are able to spend it with family and friends.

Today is the unofficial “end of summer” … which means that cold & flu season is right around the corner!

And while it’s sad that we’re on the verge of saying goodbye to summer, today I have the scoop on how you can NATURALLY ready your body’s immune system for the onslaught of inevitable colds and flu this fall and winter…

And it all starts with your GUT!

Chances are you’ve probably heard of PROBIOTICS… maybe on a yogurt label or on a supplement label…

And while these little buggers are synonymous with digestive health, they do SO MUCH MORE!

In fact, eating foods packed with probiotics during this cold and flu season may LESSEN the impact of the common cold.

According to a review in the British Journal of Nutrition, probiotics were found to reduce the duration of respiratory infections.

Lucky for you, probiotic-rich foods are easy to come by these days.

Many foods naturally contain probiotics by a process called lactic acid fermentation. This occurs when bacteria converts sugar or other carbohydrates to lactic acid, which then increases the ‘good’ bacterial count in your gut.

Some foods that naturally contain probiotics include…

Yogurt, kefir, and sour cream (just be sure to choose varieties with live and active cultures) …

And fermented vegetables like sauerkraut, kimchi, pickles, and beets.

You can also take a probiotic supplement. There are many different types of probiotic strains, so if you take a probiotic supplement you want to make sure you’re taking one proven to help with immunity support.

To being ready for cold & flu season,

Sarah Reagan
