Get FIT (and have FUN) with America’s FASTEST growing sport
You don’t see ANY of America’s top, professional athlete’s doing it…
And you certainly won’t see it BROADCASTED on any major sports network…
But its popularity has SKYROCKETED 40%…
It’s officially America’s FASTEST growing sport.
And, if you’re an adult over age 65, giving it a try can help you stay FIT and HEALTHY for years to come!
Pickleball is taking the world of recreational sports by storm!
Often described as a combination of tennis, Ping-Pong, and badminton, pickleball has become a mega-popular hobby – particularly amongst folks over the age of 55.
If you’re not familiar with the nuances of pickleball, it’s a racket/paddle sport where either two or four players hit a hollow plastic ball over a 36-inch-high net using solid-faced paddles.
Ask anyone who plays it, and chances are they’ll describe pickleball as fun, and easy-to-play.
Now, researchers at North Carolina State University believe pickleball is a great activity for older adults looking to engage in more light physical activity.
Study authors tracked the physical activity habits of 33 older adults who played pickleball at least two times weekly. They study concluded that folks averaged 3,477 more steps on the days they played pickleball, and tended to spend more time engaged in either “very active” or “fairly active” physical activity.
During each pickleball session, the researchers found that players averaged MORE than 68 minutes of moderate-to-vigorous physical activity…
And, averaged 86.77 minutes in three increased heart rate zones during an average session.
In layman’s terms, dabbling in pickleball can help you maximize your movement – without feeling like you’re engaged in a tough, grueling workout!
If you’re interested in diving into the world of pickleball, check out leagues that may be available through your local recreation council, or senior center.
Be sure to talk to your doctor first before jumping into a brand-new exercise routine.
