ANOTHER reason an American “mainstay” is KILLING you?!
There are over 200,000 of them across cities and towns all over the U.S…
And each one is packed with eager, hungry customers who can’t WAIT to get their hands on what they’re selling.
Folks, FAST FOOD restaurants are cropping up like weeds… but they’re also a ticking time bomb for poor health and DEADLY diseases.
Unless they’ve been living under a rock, most folks SHOULD know that eating too much fast food simply ISN’T good for you.
Sure, it’s convenient – and, I’ll even admit, sometimes tastes pretty darn good…
But when not eaten in MODERATION, most fast foods are nothing but empty calories, excess sugars and carbs, and are full of preservatives…
All of which can put you in the fast lane to heart disease, obesity, and type 2 diabetes.
But according to new research, that’s not the ONLY danger to eating excess amounts of junk food.
A University of Southern California study has identified a NEW danger to eating copious amounts of fast food.
FATTY LIVER DISEASE.
Turns out that even if you eat the “healthiest” fast food items, it can increase your risk of developing nonalcoholic fatty liver disease – a condition which leads to lethal fat build up in the liver.
The study concluded that obese or diabetic individuals who get more than 20% of their daily calories from fast food, display “severely elevated” fat levels in their livers compared to those who limit or avoid fast food.
And, if more than a fifth of a person’s diet consists of fast food, it increases fat levels in their liver.
Here’s the bottom line…
I’m not here to preach that you shouldn’t touch ANY fast food. Sometimes life gets busy, so busy that we need to grab something fast and quick – even if it’s not the best thing in the world.
At the end of the day, it’s all about moderation.
A good rule of thumb though is to shop in the outer perimeter of your grocery store. This is where you’ll find all of the natural, whole foods like meats, fruits, and vegetables. The inner aisles of your grocery store are loaded with non-natural foods (a.k.a. the junk).
And do your best to limit your fast food intake to the bare minimum.
To simplifying a healthy diet,
