DO THIS every afternoon to STAVE OFF memory loss
Friend, I know you might feel HELPLESS when it comes to saving your precious memories…
ESPECIALLY if you’ve watched a loved one lose their grip on reality… and fall victim to the memory loss associated with Alzheimer’s disease and other dementias.
Maybe you cared for a parent or grandparent who no longer recognized you… and could no longer take care of themselves.
It’s no surprise that you might worry that you’d be NEXT.
But dementia doesn’t have to be your DESTINY.
You can take small steps… starting RIGHT NOW… to improve your odds against a memory that FADES with age.
Here’s one simple thing you can do every day – something that research shows could make a HUGE difference.
Turn over a new leaf
Black tea comes from the same plant as green tea – Camellia sinesis, or the “tea plant.”
It gets it black or dark brown color through fermentation.
Now, you’ve surely heard about some of the benefits of green tea and its active compound EGCG…
But don’t sleep on black tea!
Because fermenting the tea leaves also creates something else – a group of flavonoid compounds called theaflavins.
I’ve shared with you before right here in eAlert how these compounds might help you STAY OUT of an early grave.
But they also might help keep your memories ALIVE!
Now, research has shown that drinking ANY kind of tea on a daily basis… in one study, over the course of 12 years… could SLASH the risk of cognitive impairment later in life IN HALF.
And it appears to work BEST on those who need memory help the MOST – those with a genetic predisposition to develop Alzheimer’s.
You see, tea compounds in general have shown to have both anti-inflammatory and antioxidant properties…
And that’s very good for memory retention.
But theaflavins in particular can do even BETTER.
According to a 2019 animal study out of Japan, theaflavins have STRONGER anti-inflammatory action, compared to other tea compounds.
And that study also showed that theaflavins could actually PROTECT brain tissue from damage induced by that inflammation!
As a result, they could help SUPPRESS cognitive decline.
That’s not all…
Because in that same study, these black tea compounds also INHIBITED depression… which often emerges alongside memory loss.
After all, there’s nothing more DEPRESSING than losing your grip on your precious memories!
And that inflammation I just mentioned is thought to be a major culprit behind depression as well.
In a 2017 study on real people… this one conducted by an international team of researchers… drinking black tea was associated with FASTER cognitive function in several different measures.
Study participants also REMEMBERED MORE than the control group… and made FEWER ERRORS on tasks.
Now, you can get theaflavins by drinking black tea…
Or, you could pack a bigger punch by taking a black tea extract supplement.
Look for one that’s standardized to contain a certain minimum percentage of theaflavins.
