Dear Reader: Please welcome Sarah Reagan as HSI’s new director. Following in Melissa Young’s footsteps, she’ll be making sure the latest health breakthroughs land in your inbox… before anybody else would DARE to breathe a word about them!

After the year we’ve all had… and are STILL having…

No one would blame you if you were in a bad mood.

The global health emergency we’ve been GRAPPLING with has provoked PLENTY of anxiety

And the isolation has been downright DEPRESSING!

Trust me, you’re not alone. We’re all in this together.

But some folks were STRUGGLING with mood issues even before the year 2020 hit…

And their depression and anxiety won’t necessarily just DISAPPEAR once we’re no longer operating under the scourge of a pandemic.

If your mood has got you feeling blue… and you could use a little lift…

I’ve got something for you to consider trying… something that takes a completely DIFFERENT approach than the Rx your doc might try to get you to fill.

Mood shroom

Lion’s mane mushroom (Hericium erinaceus) is a funny-looking fungus whose medicinal value has been well-established in Traditional Chinese Medicine.

Known in TCM as “Hou Tou Gu,” lion’s mane EXTINGUISHES inflammation… which is thought to be a MAJOR culprit behind conditions like depression and anxiety.

In one study on women, consuming lion’s mane helped EASE feelings of irritation and anxiousness in just 4 weeks.

But it DOESN’T work like Big Pharma’s “mood meds”…

Because it doesn’t seem to have ANYTHING to do with BOOSTING serotonin levels!

Instead, its mood benefits seem more closely tied to this mushroom’s ability to REGENERATE damaged nerve cells

As it ENHANCES the activity of nerve growth factor (NGF)… and brain-derived neurotrophic factor (BDNF).

In patients with major depressive disorder… including suicidal thoughts or actions… researchers have found unusually low levels of BDNF.

But the more you can REGROW brain cells… the better you can ADAPT to whatever might otherwise send your mood into a nosedive.

Lion’s mane may get its power from the presence of 2 special types of compounds… called hericenones and erinacines

Both of which are able to cross the blood-brain barrier.

Researchers are STILL discovering new and novel compounds LOCKED INSIDE the lion’s mane mushroom…

And I suspect its mood-lifting benefits are a result of MULTIPLE substances working together.

That’s why it’s recommended that you supplement with whole, organic lion’s mane… instead of choosing just one of its individual constituents.

Look for a product that lists the “whole, fruiting body” as the key ingredient.

You can also drink lion’s mane in the form of mushroom coffee!

To BANISHING the blues,

Sarah Reagan

Meet the Health Sciences Institute

The Health Sciences Institute (HSI) is an independent organization established in 1998. We’re dedicated to uncovering and researching the most urgent advances in modern underground medicine. Things you WON’T hear about in the mainstream.

Whether they come from a laboratory in Malaysia, a clinic in South America, or a university in Germany, our goal is to bring the treatments that work directly to the people who need them. We alert our Members to exciting breakthroughs in medicine, show them exactly where to go to learn more, and help them understand how they and their families can benefit from these powerful discoveries.
