SAIL through aging gracefully with this ancient fruit trick
If you had to do it all over again, you wouldn’t change a thing.
And even if you had the chance to travel back in time to ANY age, you might choose to stay exactly where you are.
These are your “golden years” – and you’re going to make the most of them.
But that doesn’t mean you’re not thinking about how to SLOW the clock… and keep Father Time from breathing down your neck.
Ever notice how some older folks seem to age gracefully… while others just get “old”?
They may have the SAME number of candles on their birthday cakes…
But only ONE group takes aging in stride.
And THAT’S the group you want to be in.
What’s their secret?
Well, it’s likely a combination of a lot of different factors – but you can be sure it involves the right nutrition and supplement routine.
Here’s a fruit trick that could help you hit every mark you care about when it comes to healthy aging.
On the (melon) ball
You may not think much about the cantaloupe (Cucumis melo reticulatus) when it’s in your melon salad…
But this “muskmelon” has been used in Ayurvedic medicine… which calls it “kharbuja”… for ages.
Though it’s often called “Persian melon” because it originated in, well, Persia… we can thank Christopher Columbus for bringing this gourd to the Americas on one of his trips to the “New World.”
What makes it an anti-aging hero isn’t that complicated. Consider it a whole lot of common sense.
Because fresh cantaloupe is PACKED with water, eating it can help keep you hydrated – and there’s no better way to stay looking and feeling young than by keeping yourself from DRYING OUT!
Cantaloupe also contains potassium, which helps keep muscle loss at bay and supports heart health.
But perhaps most important is how this hydrating fruit is LOADED with antioxidants.
Antioxidants in general help scavenge free radicals that cause oxidative stress… one of the BIGGEST culprits behind excessive aging.
They also help boost your immunity.
But the specific antioxidants found in cantaloupe each have a unique function in beating back premature aging, including…
- vitamin B9/folate, which guards against hair loss
- vitamin C, necessary for the body to produce collagen for young-looking skin and smooth, comfortable joints
- beta carotene, a carotenoid pigment (a.k.a. vitamin A) also found in carrots that supports healthy vision, skin, and hair
- lutein and zeaxanthin, two pigments that help protect your eyes from age-related damage and vision loss
- choline, a nutrient that helps keep your brain young
- selenium, a mineral that’s been linked to longer telomeres and therefore younger “biological age”
And that’s just in the part that we eat!
Here’s what’s pretty unique about cantaloupe…
In the bumpy rind… which we usually throw away… scientists have found the anti-aging enzyme superoxide dismutase (SOD).
In fact, many supplement makers source SOD from this cantaloupe “waste product”!
One patented, standardized extract with lots of research backing it up is called Extramel – a dried cantaloupe juice concentrate extract optimized to contain high levels of SOD.
Look for it on the ingredient list of an SOD-based supplement from a maker you trust.
You can also scoop fresh cantaloupe into your smoothies and salads… and accent your dessert trays with it.
Be sure to scrub the rind before slicing into it, as your knife can contaminate the fruit flesh inside if any bacteria or pesticides are on the outer layer.
Choose organic when you can.
