So this is how it’s going to go with Chantix. It will always be something. And it will always cause some level of outrage.

Chantix, of course, is the notorious smoking-cessation med. As I mentioned recently, more than 2,600 active lawsuits blame Chantix for psychiatric problems, including suicide.

This is no surprise to anyone who’s followed the bizarre trail of side effects linked to this drug.

Now, new evidence adds heart risks to the mix.

Just days ago, the FDA announced the results of a recent Chantix trial. It appears that Chantix use increases cardio risks in heart disease patients.

As we’ve seen with other problem drugs, this is a familiar cycle. A new risk is uncovered here. Another there. And in a few years, the list reads like a horror show of side effects.

Next week, this century enters the teens. I predict that before the teens are finished, Chantix will be finished too.
