Want to Fix Medicare? Start With THIS

You have to hand it to them… President Trump and Health Secretary Robert F. Kennedy, Jr. are saying the right things.

They’re talking about overhauling Medicare, and fixing this horribly broken system.

Well, if they’re serious, I have the perfect place to start.

Because there’s a major health problem now affecting more than 20 million American seniors.

It’s been linked to dementia, depression, heart disease, and more.

For more than 60 years, Medicare has absolutely refused to cover it… or even acknowledge it, really.

The reasons are absolutely infuriating – and for the sake of our seniors, this needs to be fixed NOW.

If you’re a senior with hearing loss, you’ve learned a painful truth…

We let people go deaf in this country.

You worked your whole life… and Uncle Sam never forgot to take Medicare taxes out of your paycheck, did he?

But the second your hearing starts to falter, Medicare goes AWOL – even though you spent decades paying into the system.

Medicare A and B still don’t cover hearing aids or even routine hearing exams. And that’s despite the fact that a third of seniors in their 70s or older have moderate or severe hearing loss.

The reasons are ridiculous…

You see, the 1965 Social Security Act that created Medicare specifically excluded hearing aids as a luxury – and 61 years later, we still haven’t fixed it.

I know our pampered members of Congress only get off their butts for photo-ops or insider stock tips – but this is ridiculous.

And it’s costing taxpayers like us a fortune in the long run.

You see, the social isolation that comes from hearing loss leads to a cascade of other health problems. Once you’re diagnosed with hearing loss, here’s how much your risk of other diseases increases:

  • Dementia: 35%
  • Depression: 41%
  • Heart disease: 20%

That’s just the short list…

And our government, in its infinite wisdom, would rather pay to treat all of those problems on the back-end then shell out $4,000 for hearing aids.

I believe that’s what former President George W. Bush called “fuzzy math”… although he didn’t lift a finger to fix this, either.

Maybe the feds are worried about some unscrupulous hearing-aid manufacturers fitting seniors with devices they don’t need – all on the taxpayer dime.

But if the Medicare system has been all that concerned about fraud over the past 61 years, well, that’s news to all of us. These guys are like a bank with no doors and no safe – everyone steals from them.

Why they’re making a special case out of hearing aids… and letting millions of seniors suffer… is anyone’s guess.

Do yourself a favor and write to your elected representatives about this issue. Or approach them the next time they swing by for a town hall or a meet-and-greet.

Ask why our country lets seniors go deaf – and watch them mumble as they stare at their Italian leather shoes.

You contributed to this system for decades. The taxes you forked over are enough to pay for your own hearing aids many times over.

And it’s high time that you… and other seniors just like you… get the benefits you earned.
