The health threat PLAGUING younger generations
Friend, cancer is a tough topic for anyone. And now, colorectal cancer’s spread among young adults is like a weed taking over a garden before it even has a chance to bloom.
The American Cancer Society recently reported that colon and rectal cancers are now LEADING causes of cancer deaths among young adults.
More men and women under 50 are DYING from colorectal cancer than ever before. Experts remain unsure as to what exactly is causing this increase, but there are speculations…
Here’s what YOU need to know.
Theories as to why these cancer cases are skyrocketing in the younger population mention poor diet, obesity, and environmental factors as possibilities. (But, even very fit, healthy young people are being diagnosed nowadays!)
The critical fact is, when young people develop colon cancer, it has frequently spread to an ADVANCED stage before being detected.
This makes treatment much more complicated than catching it early on.
Now, there are things to help prevent or catch colorectal cancer early.
First, if you have younger friends or family, advise that they get screened starting at age 45 if average risk. Those with family history may need to start sooner—and should consult a physician.
Also, regardless of age, you should aim to stay trim, limit consumption of non-grassfed red meat (organic, grass-fed red meat is healthy as part of a balanced diet), and monitor your health. If you notice any bathroom habit changes, persistent abdominal pains, unexplained weight loss, or blood in stool—speak with your doctor immediately!
Pass this message to your families, friends, church groups, or neighbors. Catching this disease early makes a HUGE difference.
Don’t ignore warning signs—it could save your life or someone else’s.
