American’s getting duped by this skin cancer MYTH!
Fall foliage is in full swing.
Which means you’ve maybe thrown your sunscreen into a junk drawer, thinking you won’t need it until next summer.
Well, today I’ve got the scoop on why you DON’T want to stash it away with your bathing suit…
And the truth behind keeping your skin healthy and protected from SKIN CANCER…
Because yes, it matters—regardless of the season!
If you think taking precautions to prevent your skin getting damaged by sun exposure is only a “summer” thing, you could be setting yourself up for some SERIOUS health problems!
According to data from the American Academy of Dermatology, nearly 9,500 Americans are diagnosed with skin cancer EVERY SINGLE DAY!
A thought is that it ‘sneaks up’ on so many because most folks assume they’re only at risk during sunnier, hotter weather.
There’s also the assumption that protecting your skin with sunscreen is only needed during the summer months…
In fact, a national survey conducted by OnePoll says that 40% of Americans believe sunscreen is ONLY for the summer!
Folks, I hate to break it to you, but skin cancer doesn’t hibernate the other nine months of the year!
Skin cancer has ZERO boundaries… and it doesn’t take time off during these colder months.
So don’t let the brisk fall temperatures fool you… you still need to protect your skin when you’re out in the sun!
Now, you don’t need to lather up from head-to-toe. There are other ways to protect your skin from harmful UV rays.
Chayote (pronounced chai-ow-tay)—a type of squash found in the Southwestern U.S.—is packed with compounds that can help stop the growth of skin cancer cells.
If your local store doesn’t have it, stores that specialize in Latin American food products will often carry chayote.
You can also check out your local vitamin and supplement store to see if they carry chayote extract, which is usually in capsule form. If you do go the route of a supplement, be sure to only take the dosage listed on the product label.
To protecting your skin year-round,
