The “high” cholesterol food your heart LOVES!
Most docs tell you to STAY AWAY from them…
That the moment they touch your lips they’ll CLOG your arteries and DESTROY your heart.
But as usual, the typical scare tactics around foods that are “high” in cholesterol are a bunch of BS!
And today, I’ve got the real scoop on yet another food HIGH in cholesterol—and why it’s GOOD for your HEART!
Eggs get a bad rep—especially if you have heart problems or high cholesterol.
Yes, eggs have a lot of fat and cholesterol.
BUT you don’t have to run for the hills at the sight of a sunny-side-up egg!
A recent study looked at nearly 5,000 volunteers—some with heart disease, and some without—to see if they could detect any major health differences based on their egg consumption.
Blood tests found that the egg-eaters had higher levels of the healthy metabolites linked to lower cardiovascular risk. This, in turn, led to HIGHER levels of HDL cholesterol—aka the “good” cholesterol.
In fact, the study found that the egg-eaters had higher levels of the best form of HDL—the large molecules. These act as sweepers for blood vessels, pushing through and dragging out all the junk that doesn’t belong.
As for the folks who stayed away from eggs?
They had LOWER levels of the good stuff and HIGHER levels of the more dangerous metabolites, which is linked to serious cardiovascular risk.
So, eating MORE eggs can lead to be better heart health… while eating FEWER eggs can increase your risk of heart issues.
So much for that whole “eggs are terrible for your heart” myth, right?!
To the incredible edible egg,
Sarah Reagan
