We all need a little PICK ME UP from time to time…

From the stresses of daily life… to the sobering news circulating the airwaves… it’s no wonder folks are looking for any outlet to feel HAPPY!

Fortunately, you can improve your mood and give yourself a much-deserved HAPPINESS boost.

(Hint: this one was probably a staple in your rec room.)

A recent study conducted by OnePoll of over nearly 2,000 adults found that:

  • 56% consider SPORTS a stress reliever…
  • and 62% say that friendly COMPETITION helps them relax.

But that doesn’t mean you need to dust off your cleats… whip out your old baseball mitt… or put out a basketball hoop.

No, it turns out that activities like ping-pong were part of the “activities” that boosted mood.

My friend had a ping-pong table growing up. And to this day, I remember hanging out in her basement playing with other neighborhood friends.

These activities – like ping-pong – not only help with your hand-eye coordination, but they improve socialization and interaction. Both of which can boost your mental health and reduce feelings of isolation.

Here’s the main takeaway…

Don’t feel obligated to go out and buy a ping-pong table. But, remember that engaging in fun, social activities like ping-pong, with family, friends, or neighbors is a great way to stay socially active and boost your overall mood.

And if you want to take things even further, learn how pickleball (which is like ping-pong) can boost your overall health.

If you are experiencing feelings of sadness, isolation, or loneliness, make it a priority to speak with your doctor.

To feeling happier,

Sarah Reagan
