Now, we all know we can’t snap our fingers and STOP memory loss

But you sure CAN take steps now to PREVENT it!

Today, I’ve got the research on how three “forbidden” foods can help keep your brain in top-notch shape for years to come.

No. 1 – Coffee

Believe it or not, if you enjoy starting your day with a piping hot cup of joe, you’re also keeping your brain sharp.

The two main components in coffee — caffeine and antioxidants — actually HELP your brain.

The caffeine in coffee has many positive effects on the brain, including…

  • Increased alertness…
  • Improved mood…
  • Sharpened concentration…

In fact, one study found that when folks drank one large coffee in the morning or smaller amounts throughout the day, they were more effective at tasks that required concentration.

And thanks to its high concentration of antioxidants, drinking coffee over the long-term can REDUCE your risk of neurological diseases like Alzheimer’s.

No. 2 – Eggs

Mainstream medicine has a knack for demonizing the “incredible, edible” EGG. But what they aren’t telling you is that eggs are chock-full of memory-enhancing ingredients.

Eggs are rich in both vitamins B6 and B12 – which are critical for long-term brain function as they help slow the progression of mental decline in the elderly.

Also, a deficiency in B vitamins — specifically folate and B12 — has been linked to mental diseases. Folate deficiency is common in seniors with dementia, and studies show that folic acid supplementation helps minimize age-related mental decline.

No. 3 – Dark chocolate

Dark chocolate and cocoa powder are packed with a few brain-boosting compounds, including flavonoids, caffeine, and antioxidants.

Flavonoids are a group of antioxidant plant compounds that, when consumed, gather in the areas of the brain that deal with learning and memory.

In fact, researchers say these compounds may enhance memory and also help slow  age-related mental decline.

While coffee, eggs, and dark chocolate all have incredible brain-boosting powers, it’s important to note that they should all be consumed in moderation.

Drinking too much caffeine can have adverse effects on the body… so be sure to keep your coffee intake to no more than 2-3 cups per day.

And both eggs and dark chocolate are calorie-dense. Eating 1-2 eggs or a small square of dark chocolate provide plenty of memory-enhancing properties without overdoing it on the calories.
