An apple a day keeps the doctor away.

We are ALL familiar with iconic slogan.

But today I’m switching things up and taking that slogan in another – potentially lifesaving – direction.

It’s a “mineral” you can eat (just like an apple) … and if you add it to YOUR diet, it could very well keep DEMENTIA AWAY

A study recently published in the European Journal of Nutrition found that eating higher, daily doses of foods with MAGNESIUM can help lower your risk of dementia.

This means magnesium-rich foods like spinach, pumpkin seeds, almonds, even peanuts and cashews are all fair game when it comes to boosting your magnesium levels.

Magnesium won’t be like waving a magic wand and suddenly all dementia risk disappears

BUT eating foods rich in magnesium early and often will give your brain ample protection against the disease.

In fact, this new study found that a 41% increase in magnesium intake could lead to less age-related brain shrinkage, which is associated with better cognitive function and lower risk or delayed onset of dementia in later life,

Now, 41% seems like a lot to swallow, but in reality, we’re talking an extra handful of almonds… or maybe an extra cup of spinach – all foods that are already good for you.

And while that’s the latest news about the benefits of magnesium – there’s a lot MORE it can do for you.

I’ve recommended upping magnesium intake to help everything from mild hypertension, headaches, sleep problems, to bruxism (grinding of the teeth).

It’s really a one-stop-shop mineral!

Don’t forget that magnesium supplements are also easy to find – and a great alternative if you’re not keen on food rich in magnesium.

Just stick with the recommended dosage on the product label if you do go the supplement route.
