Happy St. Patrick’s Day!

What isn’t very LUCKY today, however, is how bad seasonal allergies seem to be right now.

From what I can see (and feel) in my neck of the woods, tree pollen is running rampant.

And it makes sense considering the mild winter most of the country had – which means all the spring “stuff” that blasts out pollen is blooming pretty darn early.

So what’s the solution if seasonal allergies have your running raggedconstantly sneezing… or waking up in a perpetual haze…?

An over-the-counter (OTC) antihistamine?

No thanks!

Not only do those make you feel like a zombie… they can also cause dry mouth, blurred vision, and difficulty PEEING!

That sounds worse than battling pollen!

Luckily, you don’t need those to power through allergy season. Because there’s a simple – and tasty – “honey” trick that can liberate you from the AGONY of seasonal allergies.

Before you grab a box of high-powered antihistamines, you should consider eating HONEY to fight allergies.

Honey is rich in antioxidants, a healthy alternative to refined sugar, and can even help improve your heart health.

But some people swear that honey gives them relief from allergies.

Of course, many in mainstream medicine are skeptical…

That’s because they’re not giving you the full story about honey and allergies.

For starters, you need to eat the RIGHT kind of honey. So you won’t see any benefit from the processed, run-of-the-mill stuff in the grocery store.

You need to eat raw, local honey.

Yes, it’s that specific combo that’s key to fighting allergies.

Local beekeepers use honey that’s pollinated by bees in your area. See, they collect pollen from local plants. Those bees then bring it back to the hive, where small amounts go into the honey.

And since most symptoms of seasonal allergies are caused by allergens from your area – eating raw, local honey will help your body adjust to local allergens each year.

Raw honey is also better for you as it contains more of the “raw” pollen from bees. It’s harder to find, but it’s what I’ve recommended to some of my patients.

You can find this type of honey at your local farmer’s market. I recommend making a trek to find it in your area.

Start with one teaspoon per day. And if you keep it up, not only can it help with acute allergy symptoms… but it can also help your body react better to pollen year-round.
