I gave up trying to keep track of how many fad diets there are these days.

Gluten free… Atkins… vegan… keto…

Heck, those are just a few that popped into my head. Trust me, if there’s a “diet” … there’s probably some kind of clever name for it!

I’m not knocking dieting – especially if it’s a means to live a healthier lifestyle.

But here’s the thing…

Just because the word “diet” is attached to something… it doesn’t mean it’s 100% HEALTHY.

And a new study is proof that not all diets are created equal (or healthy).

Harvard researchers have exposed a glaring misconception about dieting…

You may not be eating as healthy as you think.

Their study found that people OVERESTIMATE how much change they’ve made to their overall eating habits – with most retaining their usual eating patterns.

The study found that while most people “diet” (or, at the very least, make healthy changes like adding fruits and vegetables) as a way to lose weight, many fail to understand the realities of how long weight loss actually takes versus the “quick drop in pounds” promise from so many fad diets.

This leads to quick fixes… unrealistic weight loss goals… and a feeling of unsustainability which puts most folks right back at square one (or ditching healthy eating altogether).

Makes sense considering statistics have found that upwards of 95% of diets FAIL!

Again, don’t underestimate the benefits of healthy eating… just don’t overestimate a singular DIET.

I’ve never been a fan of diets with “labels” attached to them.

Sure, we’ve talked at length about the benefits of Paleo and the Mediterranean Diet.

But at their core, those are simply names for eating plans that focus on eating high quality protein, vegetables, fruits, and healthy fats – which is really the foundation of a healthy diet and will help set you up for long team health.

To healthy eating – not dieting,
