Could this Chinese flower help HEAL type 2 diabetes?

If you’ve been diagnosed with type 2 diabetes… you KNOW your blood sugar is too high.

And you KNOW you’ve got to find a way to bring it down.

But that’s not the ONLY concern for diabetics…

Because there’s also the DAMAGE that excess sugar can do as it RAGES through your body.

Fortunately, there’s something that can help PERFECT blood sugar control

And PROTECT your delicate tissues from getting WRECKED!

It’s a blossom that inspired some of the greatest painters in history, like Van Gogh… Monet… and Renoir.

And in China, it’s considered the “king of flowers.”

A royal resolution

Legend has it that the peony got its name from Paeon, Greek mythology’s physician of the gods.

In Homer’s epic poem The Iliad, that’s who treated Ares (the god of war) on Mount Olympus.

But its reputation goes WAY beyond Greek mythology…

As the Chinese peony (Paeonia lactiflora, with “milky white flowers”) is found throughout Traditional Chinese Medicine for its many medicinal properties.

The dried root (a.k.a. Radix Paeoniae Alba, or “Bai Shao”) supposedly treats a “qi deficiency” and a “yin deficiency”…

Which, in TCM terms, means low energy and dryness-heat.

Those are thought to be the underlying mechanisms behind type 2 diabetes, according to TCM – ones that you MUST address in order to RESOLVE the disease!

We know very well how Chinese peony helps BANISH inflammation, especially in patients with rheumatoid arthritis

And in diabetics, it could also help REVERSE the “heat accumulation” that can exacerbate their condition.

But what does this all mean in Western medicine?

Well, a 2015 animal study out of China showed how peony seed oil could help reduce blood glucose levels

And it works in part by INHIBITING the enzyme alpha-glucosidase, which helps turn the carbs you eat into sugar in your blood.

That’s not all…

Because in a 2016 study on folks with diabetic kidney disease, a peony root extract called total glycosides of peony (TGP) helped LOWER inflammatory markers and REDUCE the amount of albumin excreted in the urine (a clear sign of kidney dysfunction).

In fact, in that study it was EQUALLY as effective as losartan, a pharmaceutical drug often given to diabetics with kidney disease.

Those results confirmed what prior studies had found in terms of how peony could help PROTECT kidney health from the RAVAGES of diabetes.

And other studies have found that one component of TGP — a compound extracted from peony called paeoniflorin – could help diabetic wounds heal FASTER.

You can find peony extract (sometimes called “white peony” or “Chinese peony”) as a supplement in capsule form at your local health food store or online.

To healing from the sugar wreckage,
Sarah Reagan

P.S. Peony is SO effective at EXTINGUISHING inflammation… and promoting a BALANCED immune response… it’s official medicine in China for rheumatoid arthritis! To find out more, just click right here.
