Could a FLESH-EATING flower turn around breast cancer outcomes?
When you’ve got cancer, you might be willing to try ANYTHING to kill it.
It’s no wonder why so many cancer patients SUBJECT themselves to BARBARIC treatments…
Like INVASIVE surgery… POISONOUS drugs… and SCORCHING radiation.
Conventional medicine puts cancer patients through such TORTURE…
They think they HAVE TO SUFFER in order to treat their disease!
But it’s important to TREAD CAREFULLY with cancer treatments…
Because you want the benefits to TRULY outweigh the risks.
That’s why when any new potential “cancer killer” grabs headlines… you’ll want to take it with a grain of salt.
Here’s one that’s gotten some attention recently… and what to keep in mind before getting your hopes up too high.
Cancer carnage
North America’s bloodroot (Sanguinaria canadensis) may sound a little INTENSE… or even a bit SCARY.
And there’s a reason for that.
Although it’s a pretty flower in the poppy family… it “bleeds” a blood-red juice that’s poisonous. (The Latin word “sanguinarius” translates to mean “bloody” or “bleeding.”)
It’s SO toxic… it can KILL human cells on contact.
And while you wouldn’t want to ACCIDENTALLY touch bloodroot secretions… as it can cause scarring…
It’s this tissue-destroying power that’s made bloodroot a folk remedy for warts… and even skin cancer.
Modern-day research may actually SUPPORT this “home cure” – though here’s a case where you DO NOT want to try this at home.
Let me explain.
The main toxin in bloodroot appears to be a plant chemical (or “alkaloid”) called sanguinarine — and this is POWERFUL stuff.
True, it was used by Native Americans and early colonists… but this so-called “Indian paint” also left a lot of DEAD FLESH in its wake.
I have to think that they didn’t know exactly HOW MUCH of it to use… or how to use it in JUST THE RIGHT WAY.
So, bloodroot might’ve BURNED AWAY cancer cells… but it also took a lot of healthy tissue down with it.
Fortunately, science has come a long way over the past few centuries…
And the latest research shows how the potential of bloodroot might be HARNESSED to help treat triple negative breast cancer.
Now, this type of breast cancer is A BEAST compared to other breast cancers.
It GROWS and SPREADS more quickly… and it’s associated with WORSE outcomes.
Worse yet, hormone therapies and HER2 drugs don’t TOUCH it!
But the latest in vitro study shows that sanguinarine has the ability to DESTROY triple negative breast cancer cell lines.
Now, this happened in a lab dish… and not real people.
Researchers have to figure out how to use bloodroot to ZERO IN on cancer cells and tumors…
WITHOUT wrecking healthy tissue in the process.
That would be the “holy grail” of cancer treatments – one that today’s conventional care doesn’t offer.
Now, as I said, we’ve got a lot more to learn about bloodroot before it can be widely used on cancer patients…
But we have discovered that sanguinarine isn’t its ONLY cancer-killing compound.
It ALSO contains an alkaloid called chelerythrine… which has been shown to be toxic to human breast adenocarcinoma cells…
And could even work against cancer cells that RESIST chemo and/or radiation.
This one is worth a fairly STERN warning…
Because there’s a concentrated form of bloodroot that you may come across… despite the fact that it’s ILLEGAL.
It’s called “black salve,” which is bloodroot combined with zinc chloride.
It’s so CORROSIVE… so CAUSTIC… it’s not even worth the risk of TRYING.
You may also find bloodroot as a tincture for topical use…
But I’d wait on this one… at least until there’s a STANDARDIZED form of it so you know EXACTLY what you’re getting…
And EXACTLY what it could do to you.
