‘Summer infection’ rates SOARING… because of OVERLOOKED culprit?
Friend, the weather is warming up…
And you’re not the only one that’s out there enjoying it.
Lyme disease-carrying ticks are MOST active right now… between March and mid-May.
You may not THINK there are many ticks in your area… especially if you’re not planning to hike through tall grass or a thick forest…
But the latest findings reveal that may NOT be true.
Here’s what to look for this spring and summer… and what to do if one of those ticks latches onto you.
A growing threat
We’ve suspected for a while now that Lyme disease (caused by Borrelia burgdorferi) is FAR more common than anyone in the mainstream ever thought.
Now, scientists first identified Lyme as its own disease in 1975… which makes it relatively new as far as diseases go.
But it’s a growing threat…
With experts now estimating that over 400,000 Americans are SADDLED with this disease every year… over 100,000 more than previously estimated.
That’s more than 10X the number of Lyme cases actually REPORTED…
But that’s because Lyme notoriously ESCAPES detection… as it works its way through the nervous, cardiovascular, and skeletal systems, and more.
So… where are all these folks CATCHING Lyme?
Well, some researchers in Northern California thought that they couldn’t all be wandering through the woods… and started looking in other types of areas.
What they found might SHOCK you.
Because Lyme-infected ticks were CONGREGATING near the beach!
I’m talking about coastal sand dunes… bluffs… and more.
As experts told The Washington Post, “These ticks are far more widespread than realized.”
In fact, the researchers found “heaps” of infected western black-legged ticks in “big numbers”…
And pretty much WHEREVER they looked!
The problem is… NOBODY’S been looking for Lyme-carrying ticks outside of wooded areas.
NOT researchers…
And NOT the folks that the ticks could be catching a ride on!
If you’re not looking for a tiny tick on your body or clothing, you could unwittingly give that tick DAYS to transmit Lyme disease UNNOTICED.
And because Lyme could AFFLICT you with a broad variety of symptoms… often MASQUERADING as other diseases…
You may not get the treatment you need to actually clear the infection up.
Don’t let that happen to you.
There are MULTIPLE species of ticks that can carry Lyme disease… but they’re all pretty tiny.
To be sure you get them all, you can KILL hitchhiking ticks by putting all the clothes you wore in the dryer on high heat for 20 minutes.
Check your skin, too – including your calves, armpits, and even “down there.” Ask your partner to check areas you can’t see, like your back.
If you find a tick on your body, it’s likely you’ve already been bitten…
So stay on HIGH ALERT for symptoms.
Now, not every tick carries Lyme disease…
But you should also know that not EVERY tick bite that leads to a Lyme infection causes that telltale “bullseye” rash.
Watch out for other symptoms, too… like brain fog and extreme exhaustion.
And if it turns out that Lyme disease gets you in its clutches… there are some natural treatments that have been a godsend to Lyme sufferers.
You can look into some of the ones shared previously right here in eAlert, including…
- cat’s claw
- cryptolepis
- andrographis
- lumbrokinase, and
- Japanese knotweed.
To not being TAKEN DOWN by plagues of ticks,
Sarah Reagan
