A migraine doesn’t care what day it is… what time it is… or what you’ve got planned.

It can STRIKE whenever it wants… and without warning.

And migraine pain can be so severe… it leaves you down for the count…

Sometimes for hours or days on end.

Mainstream medicine might tell you to turn to strong pain meds to ease your suffering…

But some of those drugs can be just as DEBILITATING as the pain itself!

The answer isn’t knocking yourself out with an opioid

And you shouldn’t have to lock yourself in a dark room until the migraine just goes away on its own.

Today, I’d like to share with you a natural alternative that could RESCUE you from the clutches of a migraine.

It’s a cooling herb that’s shown to SOOTHE sinus headachestension headachescluster headaches… and yes, even migraines.

Keep your head in mint condition

You may think of peppermint (Mentha x piperita) as just a flavoring for your after-dinner mints… chewing gum… and toothpaste…

But this mighty mint can do more than just SETTLE your stomach… and FRESHEN your breath.

Peppermint oil is also a GODSEND for easing the digestive complaints of folks struggling with IBS

And as it turns out, it could also be the answer to migraine sufferers’ prayers.

When used topically, peppermint oil can have a NUMBING effect – and that’s because of its high concentration of a substance called menthol.

It’s no wonder that menthol is an ingredient in so many pain-relieving topical creams for arthritis and muscle pain!

But when it comes to headaches, menthol works in 3 key ways, as it…

  1. ATTACHES to receptors in your brain cells that are responsible for pain perception (a.k.a. kappa-opioid receptors) – similarly to how morphine works but MUCH more gently.
  2. CALMS neural activity and muscle stimulation by BLOCKING voltage-sensitive sodium channels — a pathway that’s been implicated in migraines.
  3. BOOSTS the action of the neurotransmitter GABA, which can have a calming effect – much like the action behind anti-anxiety and sleep meds, but without the side effects.

The result?

According to a small clinical trial published in 2015, applying a topical menthol gel helped SLAM THE BRAKES on migraine attacks.

Some study participants reported significant improvements in headache severity within 2 hours

While UNTREATED migraines can last for DAYS.

Now, menthol doesn’t stop there…

Because it could even help alleviate some of the symptoms caused by headaches and migraines… including nausea.

Now, you’ll find peppermint oil in capsule form… but that’s more likely to soothe your gut rather than your head.

Instead, you can mix peppermint essential oil with a carrier oil and massage it into your temples or at the back of your neck.

You can also use pure peppermint essential oil in aromatherapy

Either in an oil diffuser or as part of a steam session.

Add a few drops of it to a hot bath (not recommended for cluster headaches)… or to a bowl of hot water that you can sit over with a towel on your head forming a kind of “tent.”

To leaving migraines out in the cold,

Melissa Young

P.S. You can also SLASH the frequency of migraines… and in as little as just 1 month… with the help of another “leaf trick.” To find out more, just click right here.

Meet the Health Sciences Institute

The Health Sciences Institute (HSI) is an independent organization established in 1998. We’re dedicated to uncovering and researching the most urgent advances in modern underground medicine. Things you WON’T hear about in the mainstream.

Whether they come from a laboratory in Malaysia, a clinic in South America, or a university in Germany, our goal is to bring the treatments that work directly to the people who need them. We alert our Members to exciting breakthroughs in medicine, show them exactly where to go to learn more, and help them understand how they and their families can benefit from these powerful discoveries.
