Give prostate cancer the ‘axe’ with this Christmas tree trick
If there’s anything that could scare the pants off even the most manly man…
It’s prostate cancer.
But that’s NOT because of the severity of the disease. It’s the BARBARIAN treatments that the mainstream offers!
Fortunately, you may not HAVE to subject your most delicate “man parts” to SLICING and DICING… being BURNED with radiation… or POISONOUS chemo.
That doesn’t mean you’ll IGNORE your prostate…
Because there’s a Norwegian tree trick you need to know about if you’re worried about supporting your prostate health.
Lumberjack secret to a cancer-free prostate
The Norway spruce (Picea abies) is an evergreen that THRIVES in northern European forests, where it’s cultivated as a Christmas tree.
It’s a CRUCIAL component of the traditional medicinal practices of Nordic countries like Finland… Sweden… and, of course, Norway.
I’ve shared with you before right here in eAlert how this Norwegian “forest secret” has powerful anti-inflammatory action.
But that’s just the tip of the iceberg.
Turns out, Norwegian spruce trees contain a type of antioxidant compound that can help beat back prostate cancer!
It’s called 7-hydroxymatairesinol, or HMR for short)… and it’s a type of polyphenol known as a lignan.
One in vitro study showed how it can INHIBIT prostate cancer cell proliferation, as it…
- INTERRUPTS the cell growth cycle
- REDUCES cancer cell density
- INDUCES “cell suicide” (a.k.a. apoptosis), and
- LOWERS levels of PSA (prostate-specific antigen proteins).
The news gets even BETTER…
Because in a study published earlier this year, researchers found that HMR is a “picky eater.”
It’s ONLY toxic to cancer cells… and completely SNUBS “healthy” cells!
And the MORE the cancer cells were EXPOSED to this lignan… the LESS they could grow and multiply.
Now, when people consume HMR… like in supplement form… our bodies CONVERT it into another kind of lignan, called enterolactone.
This compound tends to ACCUMULATE in the prostate gland and its surrounding fluids…
And even MODERATE levels of enterolactone have been associated with a LOWER risk of prostate cancer.
Look for a supplement that contains a purified extract called HMRlignan, which is standardized to contain a certain percentage of lignans.
You should be able to find it at your local health food store or online.
You can also consume enterolactone directly by supplementing with flaxseed.
