Tribal trick EASES bathroom blues with this OVERLOOKED ingredient
If your urinary health isn’t what it could be, you might find yourself planning your schedule around WHEN and WHERE you can hit the bathroom.
Let’s face it – it could feel like your entire LIFE is revolving around when you might get the chance to pee.
Because if you’re not “going” too much… like in the middle of the night…
You could need to go MORE!
And like many aspects of our wellbeing, it can be a delicate balance to strike.
Fortunately, there’s a way to get some extra urinary support for the health of your kidneys… bladder… and ENTIRE urinary tract!
It’s as natural as can be…
And it’s even been shown to help support prostate health.
It may sound like a crazy “wives’ tale” at first…
But it turns out it’s truly indigenous wisdom at its best!
Summer treat for pee problems
It’s summer corn on the cob season… and boy, does it taste good when it’s fresh, hot, and DRIPPING in butter.
But whether you boil them… or grill them… there’s a part of those corn cobs that you’re likely letting GO TO WASTE.
In fact, it’s probably the most annoying… and MESSIEST part of shucking your ears of corn.
I’m talking about corn silk, those “silky” threads that grow under the green husk… stick to the cob… and get all over the place.
Here we spend all this time trying to GET RID of it…
Yet Native Americans have acknowledged its medicinal benefits for CENTURIES!
Turns out, these natural fibers are RICH in antioxidants… and offer anti-inflammatory benefits as well.
Both of those qualities could certainly help soothe the discomfort and burning of a urinary tract infection.
But corn silk has even MORE to offer.
In fact, GENERATIONS of Amish men have relied on this “home remedy” for enlarged prostate.
And a 2017 animal study seems to confirm this traditional knowledge, with corn silk improving benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH) in rats.
Corn silk also supports your urinary health by acting like a diuretic… meaning it makes you pee more.
Increased urine flow could help PREVENT the formation of kidney stones.
It could also help FLUSH OUT “bad” bacteria that might be building up inside your plumbing… and leading to infections.
Research shows that corn silk even may have the UNIQUE ability to stop E. coli bacteria from taking hold.
And E. coli is one of the most common culprits behind UTIs.
You can find dried corn silk (for boiling) or corn silk tea in Asian specialty markets…possibly sold under its Chinese name, “yu mi xu.”
The only problem? At least in this country, corn crops are WIDELY genetically modified… and therefore SOAKED in pesticides.
You’ll want a non-GMO version, which you can find in USDA Organic-certified teas like those sold by Buddha Teas and Celebration Herbals.
Organic products are NEVER allowed to contain GMOs… and corn silk makes for a naturally caffeine-free herbal tea.
Now, you can also consume corn silk in capsule form, available at health food stores and online. Just be sure to choose one with ZERO added sugar.
A recommended dosage is to take 400-450 mg, 2-3 times daily. But check with your doc first before starting ANY new supplementation routine.
And this is one you won’t want to combine with any “water pills” (a.k.a. diuretics, including some blood pressure meds) you might already be taking.
To wasting not,
