We’re just a few days before the “official” start of winter…
But for many, “cold and flu” season starts with their first round of antibiotics.
I’ve been telling you right here in eAlert how crazy that is – since those bacteria-killing drugs don’t do A THING to beat viruses, which cause most winter infections.
And taking antibiotics doesn’t just tear up your gut… make you feel nauseous… and send you running for the nearest toilet…
Wiping out ALL of your colonies of bacteria – including the “good guys” – can set you up for an overgrowth of ANOTHER type of bug.
I’m talking specifically about a type of yeast known as Candida.
That’s the culprit behind yeast infections… athlete’s foot… some UTIs… and more.
It’s notoriously tough to get rid of…
But fortunately, there’s a common kitchen spice that offers both a natural prescription antibiotic alternative AND fungus fighter.
A broad-spectrum approach
Candida albicans is the most common of the Candida yeasts that live naturally in our bodies… on our skin… and even inside our mouths.
Normally, it doesn’t do any harm.
But antibacterial agents can work TOO well – wiping out ALL the bacteria in its path, including the “good bugs” (like Lactobacillus) that usually keep fungal growth in check.
Left unattended, the yeast can TAKE OVER.
Candidiasis infections can leave you itching… burning… and even doubled over in pain (especially as it can exacerbate preexisting conditions like IBD).
To get some relief, you’ve got to beat back the fungal COUP!
Unfortunately, some species – including Candida auris – have learned to RESIST antifungal meds.
Once that yeast occupies your internal organs… and bloodstream… you’re in for a SERIOUS infection.
Don’t let it get to that point.
You know that you should only take antibiotics when they’re ABSOLUTELY necessary…
And sometimes they are.
Fortunately, there’s a common spice that does what no antibiotic can…
It KILLS bacteria, viruses, AND fungi!
It’s oregano (Origanum vulgare) – specifically, oil of oregano.
Oregano oil contains a strong antibacterial and antifungal compound called carvacrol.
That means you can use this essential oil to CONTROL your winter infections… and BEAT BACK the side effects of antibiotic use by ERADICATING yeast and other fungal overgrowths.
Look for 100% pure, unfiltered, Certified USDA Organic oregano oil made from medicinal grade oregano.
As long as it’s 100% therapeutic grade, you can ingest it. The oil even comes emulsified in capsule form for easy swallowing.
You can use it topically as well — add it, for instance, to a footbath to treat athlete’s foot. Or you can make a powder to apply directly to toenail fungus.
Before applying it directly to your skin, mix it with a carrier oil like coconut or jojoba oil.
