Is the mainstream’s latest vaccine lie its biggest whopper yet?

For years the drug companies and our government have told us every fib under the sun to get us to line up our kids for their shots. They promised that the shots were safe – and even that they weren’t made from aborted babies.

But this newest claim takes the cake.

Researchers say a new study proves that skipping vaccines can give kids life-threatening strokes.

It’s a tall tale meant to frighten parents and grandparents everywhere.

But when you see that the research really said – and who’s behind it – you just may never trust another word out of the pro-vaccine camp again.

Twisting the numbers

The headlines were just about everywhere. And they were terrifying.

Researchers from the University of California, San Francisco looked at hundreds of kids from around the world and came up with a conclusion that’s nearly impossible to believe (and you shouldn’t believe it for a second).

They’re claiming that kids who weren’t fully vaccinated were seven times more likely to suffer a stroke.

If that doesn’t get millions of parents rushing their kids to their pediatricians’ offices, I don’t know what will.

And, believe me, that’s exactly what this study was designed to do.

Because there’s plenty about this research that the media never reported. And when I started poking around, I found that the numbers were twisted into such a pretzel that these scientists must have hired Enron’s bookkeeper.

You see, researchers started by looking at 355 kids under 18 who had a stroke and 354 who didn’t. Of those 355 who had strokes, around 28 hadn’t received their full slate of vaccines.

Of those who didn’t have strokes, only a few were behind on their vaccines. And that’s how researchers came up with their claim that kids who don’t get all their vaccinations are “seven times more likely to have a stroke.”

Well, that’s one way to put it. Another way to put it would be that about 80 percent of the kids who had strokes were fully vaccinated – and they had strokes anyway (more on that in a moment).

But I’ll give these researchers credit. Finding 355 kids who had strokes probably wasn’t easy.

While pediatric strokes can be very serious, they’re also incredibly rare. A kid’s risk of having a stroke is right around one in 8,000.

Your chances of getting struck by lightning during your lifetime? Around one in 3,000.

Getting vaccinated to prevent a stroke makes about as much sense as wearing a life preserver in the middle of the desert – you know, just in case.

And if this study smells a little fishy to you, just follow your nose all the way to one of its lead authors — Dr. Mitchell S.V. Elkind.

Dr. Elkind not only receives “significant personal compensation” from some of the biggest names in the drug world, but he’s also served as an expert witness in legal cases against vaccine maker Sanofi.

The tragic irony here is that research has proven that vaccines may be more likely to give kids a stroke than prevent one. And that’s probably because of the infection and inflammation response the shots produce.

One study from Rutgers’ New Jersey Medical School identified hundreds of stroke cases shortly after people had received a variety of vaccines such as flu, hepatitis and DTap. And those cases came straight from FDA reports.

So if some pediatrician tries to use this new research as a sales pitch for vaccines, be sure to tell him you know the real story.

And that you don’t make health decisions based on Big Pharma marketing pitches disguised as science.
