Analyzing the threat of CODEX
Healthcare freedom isn’t free
Next month, health freedom advocates from all over the world will gather for a major conference in Minneapolis, MN.
Here’s how Jerri Johnson of the National Health Freedom Coalition (NHFC) describes the mission of the organization and the conference: “We are working to maintain DSHEA, and to analyze and have input on CODEX issues. Our conference will be bringing together many of the attorneys and health freedom advocates leading the way on CODEX.”
As long as DSHEA is maintained, CODEX shouldn’t be a problem. But there are plenty of politicians out there, backed by powerful corporate interests, who would be delighted to modify DSHEA and make our current healthcare freedom vulnerable to CODEX “harmonizing” of trade regulations. (If these acronyms are Greek to you, see the e-Alert “No Shrinking Violet” (6/14/05) for a little background.)
In addition to analyzing the threat of CODEX, the conference will also focus on restrictive state laws that limit access to holistic practitioners and dietary supplements. National and international experts on healthcare freedom will offer presentations and lead workshops over the three-day conference, culminating with a World Health Freedom Assembly.
