Irish moms’ efforts to ban Gardasil may reverberate around the world
The list of victims is growing by the day — and their stories are all the same.
I’m talking about healthy, active young girls who suddenly became so sick and fatigued they can no longer attend school. They’re suffering from constant migraines, blurred vision, fainting episodes and even seizures.
What all these girls all have in common is that they received one or more shots of the HPV vaccine Gardasil.
I’ve been sharing horror stories about these HPV vaccines since Day One. About all the side effect reports sent into the FDA. About cases of early menopause, seizures, paralysis — even death.
But thousands of miles away, parents whose daughters’ lives were ruined by Gardasil are finally doing something about it.
They’re seeking a court order that would pull Gardasil off the market once and for all.
And for once, these parents may have some powerful politicians — and even the law — on their side.
These parents are members of a support group called “Reactions and Effects of Gardasil Resulting in Extreme Trauma,” or REGRET (and, believe me, there are parents all over the world who regret ever letting that needle near their kids).
The group was set up by parents of young girls in Ireland who all went downhill so dramatically and suddenly after receiving the Gardasil vaccine that their moms and dads knew they had to warn others.
And one mother has taken that warning even further — to the High Court of Ireland. That’s where the most serious of cases are heard.
Fiona Kirby, who is also a nurse, wants something much more important than money. She wants other young girls to be spared the agony and torment that has plagued her daughter since she received her first Gardasil shot at age 11.
At first, she thought her daughter had the flu. But like so many of the other REGRET girls, that wasn’t the case.
And things got really bad, really fast.
Now, Fiona’s daughter is totally disabled, needing constant care. Fiona told the court that the girl suffered “horrendous adverse effects” after the Gardasil shot.
It was something she first thought was an unusual, isolated reaction. But Fiona, like moms and dads and grandparents all over the world, soon learned about all the other girls — girls whose stories I’ve been bringing you for years — who had their lives ruined by a Gardasil jab.
And now Fiona is asking the High Court of Ireland to do something the United States should have done years ago — ban Gardasil.
That’s right, ban it.
That means it would be stripped of its license to be sold in Ireland, and the country’s health agency could no longer include it in any national vaccine programs.
And you can bet all eyes at Merck are on these court proceedings, because what starts in Ireland could soon spread throughout the world.
And unlike what lots of frustrated parents are experiencing in America, Fiona and
her fellow REGRET parents have the support of some influential politicians on their side.
Irish Senator Paschal Mooney recently accused the medical profession of “protecting the pharmaceutical companies by denying there are any adverse side effects” to the shot.
He also told about testimonials he had heard from girls 12 to 17 across Ireland who are “confined to their beds, who are in psychiatric units of our hospitals, who are suffering from almost terminal fatigue” after getting Gardasil.
And the senator also made it clear that parents in Ireland are not being given full information about Gardasil side effects before they sign off on a consent form.
“The more I’ve delved into this, the more I believe it’s a national disgrace,” he said.
I’ll second that, Senator Mooney.
And I’ll add that it’s a national disgrace that extends to every single country in the world that promotes, mandates and allows these dangerous shots to be given to our young girls, and now boys as well.
You can bet that when it comes to getting Gardasil off the market, Fiona and the rest of the folks in REGRET are in for the fight of their lives. But for the sake of these parents — and the kids they’re trying to protect — let’s hope a little “luck of the Irish” goes a long way.
