Get wise, get wealthy and get on with your life
Get wise, get wealthy…and get on with your life
“When I lived in St. Andrews several years ago, the locals would often clink my glass, give me a wink, and announce in that distinct Scottish brogue: ‘Be happy while you’re living, for you’re a long time dead.'”
That excellent advice appeared in a recent Spiritual Wealth e-letter that happens to be written by my colleague and friend Alexander Green.
Here’s another wonderful Spiritual Wealth quote – this one is from Ronald Reagan: “Enjoy life, it’s ungrateful not to.”
Every week I look forward to Alex’s Spiritual Wealth. It helps me settle down and take the long view. But Alex’s day job is quite different from his SW work. He’s the Investment Director for the Oxford Club – an international network of seasoned investors and entrepreneurs. So you can be sure that when it comes to money management, Alex is an insightful guy who really knows his stuff.
Earlier this week Alex sent me an e-mail with some exciting news: Wiley & Sons just published his new book, “The Gone Fishin’ Portfoli Get Wise, Get Wealthy…and Get On with Your Life.”
In his e-mail, Alex wrote, “This is the book I wish someone had handed me 25 years ago, so I didn’t have to learn everything the hard way. I cover all the basics: Saving, investing, cutting costs, minimizing taxes and dealing with the psychological hurdles the financial markets throw our way from time to time.
“It’s based on the only investment system ever to win the Nobel Prize in Economics. And it is so simple to use that you can implement it yourself in less than 20 minutes a year. The rest of the time I encourage you to travel, play golf, spend time with your grandkids or just…go fishin’.”
I’m no fisherman, but that sounds like a great plan to me!
You can find “The Gone Fishin’ Portfolio” on amazon.com. And you can subscribe to Alex’s free Spiritual Wealth e-letter at spiritualwealth.com.
