Fruit And Cancer

Tell your children, your grandchildren, and your great grandchildren to eat some fruit. Will they thank you for it later? Probably not. But they might have good reason to.

Over a period of three years (1937-1939) a team of UK researchers conducted a dietary survey of thousands of families in 16 urban and rural areas in England and Scotland. Another team of researchers recently followed up on the complete health and social records of almost 3900 adults who had participated in the study as children.

The one standout statistic revealed by the data was a clear association between fruit consumption as children and a reduced risk of cancer as adults.

Based on this, do we dare give the kids apples when they come around trick-or-treating this Halloween? That’s a good way to get your house egged!
