You know you’ve got a serious case of tinnitus when that ringing in your ears can be heard by other people as well.

As farfetched as that may seem, apparently there are such documented cases. Fortunately, most of those who hear the ringing (usually caused by age-related nerve loss in the inner ear) don’t have it quite that bad. But tinnitus often affects quality of life, especially in cases where it contributes to sleep disorders.

In the June 20th “This Week in the HSI Forum,” I told you about a member named Larry who started a thread titled “Hearing Disorders.” In response to that e-Alert (and Larry’s request for ways to treat tinnitus), a member named Brynda sent an e-mail to offer her experience:

“In regards to Larry, I had ringing in my earskept me awake at night. I learned that my Atlas (which is at the top of your spine) was out of alignment. Went to my chiropractic physician and now I do not have this problem. I go back weekly until it conforms and the muscles can hold it in place. Thought this may help Larry. It’s worth a try.”

More than 20 other members have responded to Larry’s original posting, with suggestions ranging from aerobic exercise, to CoQ10 supplements, to reducing carbohydrates, and more. If you happen to be one of the many who have tinnitus, you might find a natural remedy that works for you in Larry’s “Hearing Disorders” thread. Or better yet – if you’ve successfully addressed tinnitus, please log on to the Forum and share your treatment so others can find a way to make that ringing a thing of the past.
