This week in the HSI Forum

A concerned mother and HSI member named Roz wants to know two things: 1) if it’s possible that her daughter may have picked up a yeast infection by eating yogurt, and 2) if anyone has an alternative remedy for yeast infection.

To take the first question first – no, it’s probably not the yogurt. Unless, as a member named Jeff points out, Roz’s daughter added something to the yogurt that may have triggered the infection. Other possible causes suggested by members include high stress, bubble bath products, caffeine, dietary yeast, and even weather changes.

As for stopping the problem of yeast infection before it begins, Lance offered these comments: “Some doctors believe that a well-balanced diet low in fats, sugars, and refined foods is important for preventing vaginal infections caused by Candida. In one preliminary trial, avoidance of sugar, dairy products, and artificial sweeteners resulted in a sharp reduction in the incidence and severity of Candida vaginitis. Still, other doctors will even recommend avoidance of fruits and fruit juices (especially if recurrent).”

And on the subject of treatment, a member named Dolores had this to say: “Caprylic acid works well for yeast infection. You can get it at the health food or vitamin store.”

Among other topics being discussed on the HSI Forum this week: hypertension; grapefruit seed extract; xylitol; psoriasis; natural treatments for migraine headaches; and for something a little off the health track, Linda wants to know of a natural way to get rid of snakes. Roz suggests cayenne powderor perhaps three really big cats.

Whether or not you have a good “remedy” for snakes, you can log on to our web site at www.hsionline.com to find out what other members are saying about important health issues, and to add your own comments and questions to the discussions.

Meet the Health Sciences Institute

The Health Sciences Institute (HSI) is an independent organization established in 1998. We’re dedicated to uncovering and researching the most urgent advances in modern underground medicine. Things you WON’T hear about in the mainstream.

Whether they come from a laboratory in Malaysia, a clinic in South America, or a university in Germany, our goal is to bring the treatments that work directly to the people who need them. We alert our Members to exciting breakthroughs in medicine, show them exactly where to go to learn more, and help them understand how they and their families can benefit from these powerful discoveries.
