Weird Sri Lankan Remedy SILENCES Kidney Stones?!
If you’ve ever suffered a kidney stone, you know the terror…
Sudden, stabbing pain that can send you to the ER…
Nausea that makes you question every sip of water…
And the waiting game while you hope it will pass on its own.
Most doctors will tell you the usual: drink more fluids, take painkillers, and maybe surgery if it doesn’t pass.
But what if there were a simple, natural remedy that actually cuts the pain, shrinks the stone, and stops them from forming in the first place?
There is… but it’s practically unknown in America.
Researchers in Sri Lanka have been studying an herb called Aerva lanata, used for centuries in Sinhala folk medicine to treat kidney problems.
In a recent human study, published in the International Journal of Biology, Pharmacy and Allied Sciences, researchers recruited 60 adults diagnosed with kidney stones.
They split them into two groups: one was told to drink water and stay hydrated while the other got a controlled dose of Aerva lanata extract for 30 days.
Over the course of a week, the team monitored pain scores.
By the end, the herb group reported a whopping 60% reduction in pain.
Other research shows that Aerva lanata offers other benefits too:
- Compounds in the herb, like quercetin and betulin, have been shown to shrink kidney stones and help your body flush out excess calcium, phosphate, and oxalate, while keeping magnesium steady, which naturally helps stop stones from forming
- In studies with rats prone to kidney stones, Aerva lanata lowered the enzymes that make stones and reduced crystals in the kidneys
- Extracts of the herb have a gentle diuretic effect, meaning they can help increase urine flow and make it easier to pass stones
For seniors, this is huge. Kidney stones become more common with age, and standard painkillers like NSAIDs can strain kidneys, the very organ already under attack.
A natural option like Aerva lanata may reduce the need for heavy pain medications, giving relief without the side effects that many older adults dread.
And the best part? This is not just folklore.
The study gives real, quantifiable evidence that a centuries-old herbal remedy can make a tangible difference.
Imagine cutting the excruciating pain of a kidney stone in half, potentially avoiding an ER visit, and helping your body pass the stone more smoothly.
If you’re curious to try it yourself, Aerva lanata extract is available online in capsule or powdered form often sold under other nicknames. Here’s one by Hawaii Pharm. And here’s an inexpensive tea. They both go by the name of Polpala.
The body has its own wisdom, and sometimes the best solutions are the ones that have been quietly working for centuries hidden in the herbs our ancestors trusted.
Here’s to passing stones, and pain, the natural way.
