Folks, I just read a study that made my blood boil.

Researchers tracked children for FIFTY YEARS and found that 7-year-olds with high blood pressure are dying prematurely from cardiovascular disease in their 50s.

Let that sink in.

A child barely old enough for second grade already has the seeds of death planted in their arteries.

This isn’t just about blood pressure…

It’s about the complete FAILURE of American healthcare, the American diet, and every institution that’s supposed to protect us.

And make no mistake—this crisis doesn’t stop with the young.

If you think your blood pressure, cholesterol, or diet don’t matter anymore because you’ve “made it” to retirement age… think again.

The same forces destroying kids’ hearts are still working on yours.

Ultra-processed foods. Fake nutrition. A medical system that treats symptoms, not causes.

This is a national health time bomb—and it’s ticking for all of us.

A massive study in JAMA followed 37,081 children from age 7 into their mid-50s.

Kids with slightly elevated blood pressure at 7 had a 48% higher risk of dying early from heart disease. Those with full hypertension had a 40% higher risk.

Even worse? One in five of those 7-year-olds already had hypertension.

And that was back in the 1960s.

Fast-forward to today—one in five children are obese. Childhood obesity rates have TRIPLED since the 1970s.

This isn’t progress. It’s decay.

And it’s the same toxic system that’s made heart disease America’s #1 killer—for EVERY generation.

If you’re a senior reading this, you’ve watched the change happen.

You grew up on home-cooked meals, gardens, and real food. Now your grandchildren live on drive-through dinners and ultra-processed snacks.

But here’s the truth: every bite of processed food, every sugary drink, every convenience meal affects YOU too.

High blood pressure doesn’t care how old you are—it’s fueled by the same poisons in the modern American diet.

Two-thirds of calories now come from ultra-processed foods. More than a third of meals come from fast food.

The government made junk food cheap and real food harder to afford—then acted shocked when we all got sick.

Studies show people who eat ultra-processed foods are far more likely to develop:

  • Type 2 diabetes
  • High blood pressure
  • Obesity and metabolic syndrome
  • Fatty liver disease

And it’s not by accident. Processed foods are ENGINEERED to be addictive—packed with sugar, fat, and chemicals that hijack your brain’s reward system.

Meanwhile, schools feed kids this same garbage, doctors hand out pills, and the government keeps subsidizing corn syrup and seed oils.

And Big Pharma? They’re developing obesity drugs for children instead of fixing the food supply for everyone.

You’ve lived long enough to see what health used to look like—and what’s replaced it.

Your generation knew real food, real movement, and real vitality.

But today’s America is trading all of that for convenience, chemicals, and chronic disease.

The JAMA researchers found that blood pressure in childhood predicts heart death 50 years later.

So imagine what our current diet will mean for the next 50 years.

It’s not complicated. It’s not genetic. It’s not fate.

It’s what we eat—and what we’ve allowed to become “normal.”

Here’s how you fight back:

  • Cook real food at home.
  • Cut out fast food and processed junk.
  • Get moving—outside, every day.
  • Teach your family what REAL food is and why it matters.

The food industry makes billions selling disease. The healthcare system profits from treating it.

But YOU can still take control—starting in your own kitchen.

Don’t wait for the system to save you. Because it won’t.

In Your Corner,

Dr. Allan Spreen
