“Scarlet” spice WIPES OUT type 2 diabetes risk?
If you’re showing warning signs of type 2 diabetes, the mainstream is counting the days until they can inevitably prescribe you a DRUG to “treat” the disease.
But as with many other ailments, you can NATURALLY prevent the onset of type 2 diabetes…
Science has discovered that just a small amount of this “scarlet” spice can lower your blood sugar AND reduce the risk of developing type 2 diabetes.
If you’re a fan of Middle Eastern or Mediterranean food, you’re probably familiar with the bright-red, scarlet-colored, spice SUMAC.
Researchers have discovered that incorporating sumac into your diet could be game-changing in the fight against diabetes.
In a double-blind, placebo-controlled study, researchers observed that type 2 diabetic volunteers who consumed just 3 grams of sumac powder per day over a 3-month period had LOWER blood sugar and LESS insulin resistance than folks taking a placebo.
The sumac group also experienced a 25% reduction in circulating insulin—which simply put is the amount of insulin that flows through your bloodstream.
See, having too much insulin circulating in the blood can lead to a condition called hyperinsulinemia (hi-pur-in-suh-lih-NEE-me-uh). This causes your pancreas to make more insulin, leading to higher levels of insulin in the blood.
Though type 2 diabetes is often the result from a lack of insulin production, it can also develop when your body no longer effectively USES insulin to manage your blood sugar.
This can lead to an overproduction of insulin—extra insulin roaming through your body and unmanaged glucose, resulting in hyperinsulinemia.
Symptoms of hyperinsulinemia often go unnoticed, but can include sugar cravings, frequent hunger, weight gain, fatigue, and even anxiety or feelings of panic! But here’s the kicker…
Now hyperinsulinemia doesn’t necessarily mean that you HAVE diabetes—but it can be a precursor to an “official” diagnosis.
The bottom line?
Avoiding excess levels of insulin in your blood will not only help you manage your type 2 diabetes… but it will also help you avoid hyperinsulinemia, which is a major risk factor.
And thanks to sumac, you can finally take control of your body’s insulin levels without relying on a future of prescription drugs!
Talk to your doctor about sumac if you’re at high-risk for developing type 2 diabetes.
