Return the favor to your LIVESAVING pets today
Happy 4th of July!
I hope your day is filled with fun, festivities, and maybe even a good firework show.
And while nothing screams 4th of July like a grand firework spectacular… there’s one group that isn’t too keen on the loud noises…
Your PET!
If you’re an avid reader you already know that pets can do wonders for your health.
From lowering stress, to providing companionship…
To even boosting your LONGEVITY—a pet can be a true LIFESAVER.
But too often, they feel uncomfortable and unhealthy during 4th of July shindigs.
Let’s return some of the love to them today, and take a look at how to keep them safe and healthy.
For the most part, you and I can handle and deal with loud noises. Unfortunately, pets sometimes don’t have that luxury.
You see, they are often hypersensitive to loud noises… bangs… and even the bright flashes associated with fireworks.
Some pets become so frightened by the noise and commotion of fireworks that they run from otherwise familiar environments and people—which can cause them to get lost.
But creating a safe environment for your pet today is 100% possible.
First, if you can, keep your pets INDOORS for any firework shows. Fourth of July gatherings can be large and filled with unfamiliar people. Keeping your pet in its familiar environment can prevent any anxiety or fear.
Second, speaking of its environment, create a SAFE space for your pet. A cozy bed or crate in your pet’s “favorite” room of the house can help it feel safe and secure. You can even leave the TV, radio, or a white noise machine on to create some background noise that can block out any loud noises.
Finally, if you do take your pet out today, keep them on a LEASH. Even the most well-trained, calm-tempered pets can get spooked by loud noises or strangers. Keeping your pet secured on a leash can help prevent them from suddenly running off.
Also, when in doubt, give your veterinarian a call today for any additional tips that can help keep your pet safe.

Sarah Reagan
