Now that we’re a full month out from last year’s holiday season…

All those old adages seem to be coming back to haunt us.

You know, the ones about how we SHOULDN’T indulge in so many treats…

Because, as they say, “A moment on the lips… forever on the hips.”

Goshdarnitall!

As we get older, once those extra pounds PILE ON… they seem to simply STICK LIKE GLUE!

And they all CONVERGE in one spot – right in the middle.

So whether it’s a beer belly… a spare tire… or a muffin top you’re DESPERATE to get rid of…

There’s a way to BLAST fat that you need to know about.

Fat begone

Gynostemma (Gynostemma pentaphyllum) is a medicinal Chinese herb that’s earned the nickname “miracle plant.”

Because of its effects as an adaptogen… and its characteristic five leaves… it’s sometimes called “five-leaf ginseng.”

But while gynostemma contains compounds (called gypenosides) that work SIMILARLY to the ginsenosides found in ginseng…

It’s a TOTALLY different plant.

Traditional Chinese Medicine uses gynostemma for respiratory support and even to help fight cancer.

But those aren’t the ONLY miracles that this herb could potentially work.

It could also help ERASE fat!

In fact, in one study out of Korea, very overweight (but otherwise healthy) folks who consumed this extract saw their waistlines shrink by 1 INCH, on average.

And CT scans revealed that they’d lost an average of more than 6% of their fat around their middles!

Those are pretty STUNNING results in just 3 months.

But they’re even MORE IMPRESSIVE when you consider that the study participants didn’t have to STARVE themselves… or RUN THEMSELVES RAGGED at the gym!

In fact, they were instructed to change ZILCH about their diets or exercise routines.

The study authors discovered that gynostemma works by supporting the activity of an enzyme called AMPK – your metabolic “master switch.”

AMPK is also known as the “master regulator of metabolism”…

And can influence our blood sugar levels as well as energy production.

Problem is — we DON’T have a constant supply of AMPK surging through our bodies at all times. Sometimes, we need to give it a little nudge.

Exercising activates AMPK in your muscles as they contract… and intermittent fasting can trigger it, too.

But gynostemma can light a fire under your metabolism… WITHOUT diet and exercise!

That’s not all…

Because in a 2021 study, Australian researchers found that consuming gynostemma extract was linked to significant decreases in:

body weight

overall fat mass

belly fat (especially in guys)

fat accumulation around hips and thighs (especially in gals), and

BMI.

Traditionally, the dried leaves of Gynostemma pentaphyllum are prepared as a tea (available commercially as “jiaogulan” or “Jiao Gu Lan”)…

But you can also find it in supplement form from several quality makers at your local health food store or online.

In the first study I mentioned earlier, the subjects took a patented version of Gynostemma pentaphyllum extract called “actiponin”…

Which has been shown to offer 10X the potency of traditional extracts of the herb.

You can find it as a star ingredient in the formula by Life Extension called “AMPK Metabolic Activator.”

In the second study I just mentioned, participants took a patented extract called ActivAMP… which you can find in Swanson Ultra’s “ActivAMP AMP-K Stimulator” supplement.

Meet the Health Sciences Institute

The Health Sciences Institute (HSI) is an independent organization established in 1998. We’re dedicated to uncovering and researching the most urgent advances in modern underground medicine. Things you WON’T hear about in the mainstream.

Whether they come from a laboratory in Malaysia, a clinic in South America, or a university in Germany, our goal is to bring the treatments that work directly to the people who need them. We alert our Members to exciting breakthroughs in medicine, show them exactly where to go to learn more, and help them understand how they and their families can benefit from these powerful discoveries.
